UGA is a good school for average students.

That's about it.

Have you ever heard of the word oxymoron ? If yes, then just delete the "oxy" and, voila, there you are !

A UGA grad?

Figures. 😂

It checks off every single box. I can’t think of anything that UGA doesn’t have that a college student would want.

This.

Athens is one of the better college towns in the US. It's generally regarded as a happy school with students who are social and outgoing. It has a great football team, which makes things exciting for lots of students and alumni. It's large enough that every student is going to find their interests and their people. The weather is good for most of the school year. And Georgia is known to give good merit aid. Students are generally pretty bright and motivated. Georgia is the rare school that is going to be appealing to the vast majority of 18 year olds today. Good for them.

At our private school, smart kids who wanted a “rah rah” school applied to UNC as their reach, UF and UGA as hard targets, and Clemson, Auburn, USC and Tennessee as safety schools.

Also, the US News public school rankings and Georgia’s relatively cheap OOS tuition help.

But it’s still THE SOUTH!!!

Don’t be dumb. Of course more students will apply to schools that are easier to get into which includes a lot on this list. Most kids are not going to pay for apps to the top popular schools in the south they have no chance at.

God you're dense. This list doesn't support what you're saying.

Then the list would be chock full of SEC schools.

The top southern schools above…UNC, Florida and Duke have some of the lowest acceptance rates for OOS.

It’s funny when confronted with the facts, then it’s just nonsense comments.

Where did this list come from? Are the numbers verified? I’m not convinced your “facts” are legitimate.

It came directly from Bethesda Magazine which gathers all the data from MoCo schools which is published.

You are also free to sort the MoCo data on your own.

They are the facts….but sure, your bullshit gut instinct is better.

Is the MoCo data verified by the schools or self-reported? Cite your source.
