Honestly I just want crazy to leave me and mu family alone.

And the guy had clearly handed the ball to a kid, she could have seen that. I've been to plenty of games where someone catches a ball and then immediately finds a kid nearby to give it to.

Here's a story of a Jay's fan handing a kid wearing a Yankees shirt an Aaron Judge homerun ball.

Be that guy. Not this lady.

Thank you for posting this article/video. I'm a big BoSox fan lifelong, but don't really follow BB or any other pro sports in general, so I missed this really beautiful story. Reading/watching last night made me weep and feel really good about people and that's pretty rare for me these days - so I truly appreciate the share.

I think "unknown reason" is doing a lot of work here.

Did she know that he was giving it to his kid? No, not when she first got angry. Is it fair that now thousands of people are calling her out for one moment of her life?

No.

And while I get the term Karen is easy to understand, it’s misogynistic. We need to do better.

It's not misogynistic to call out bad behavior. It's absurd to act like women can't be criticized for terrible behavior. We all have choices to make. Don't act like a bit___ch in front of children (and cameras) and you won't be called out. Both the Marlins and Phillies knew she was wrong and therefore gave the kid gifts.

She is wrong for being mad. The thrill is in catching the ball. She didn't catch any ball then acted like a petulant child demanding something that wasn't hers. The people shaming her now aren't the problem. These balls are worthless, they go home and sit in a drawer. That's why so many people catch a ball and immediately hand it to a kid near them, because there's not much point in keeping a ball. This woman completely missed the point. She must have been 6 beers in to act so badly.

DP" The term 'Karen" is misogynistic. This was a baseball fan acting poorly. Gender doesn't matter, as you say, so why call her a misogynistic name? Why isn't the headline "Phillies Fan gets Shamed"? Why are people focused on her gender?

But you won't call it assault when a woman puts hands on a man. Hmmm. Interesting. Double standards only when it gives you leverage. That's why there are so many horrible women who get aggressive like this, yet expect to be protected & cry victim if they are treated the Exact. Same. Way.

He should have thrown hands. In self defense, of course 😜

It’s not assault, it’s battery. Once she put her hands on him it’s battery. Assault arguably could have been the menacing way she spoke to him and made him feel threatened.

You think being a white woman should put you above criticism for bad behavior?

I think people shouldn’t causally throw slurs because they don’t like someone or what they did.

PP here. Oh, ok. Don't call her "Karen," but her behavior is way beyond acting poorly. She should have been arrested.

I haven’t read this whole thread in particular, but everything else I’ve seen online has been pretty judgmental of this woman and her reaction to the situation.

I have no idea who touched the ball first and whether it was taken from her. But her reaction was over the top regardless and she should have never touched that man.

Because if it was a man yelling at another man, no one would have noticed. It’s a middle age woman who we can label a Karen and it’s news.

This is equal opportunity shaming. The man who recently stole a hat from a kid at the tennis match didn't catch a break. It's a bad look no matter who is doing it.

+1 And this "lady" put her hands on him.
