Schedules on ParentVue?

They messed up my rising senior’s entire schedule. He’s supposed to be doing dual enrollment in the afternoon but the schedule shows 7 classes instead of 4. And the ones he needs are scheduled to conflict with DE so they will have to completely start over with assigning him to courses. He is apparently not the only one at his school either.

BCC?

They also noted that the deadline to change electives was last week. Of course my DS could not see his schedule until today.

He's not in the market to change anything right now, but this refusal to make changes and a deadline that predated the schedule release seems off to me.

Typically deadlines at high schools are for elective changes. Did your school also have counselor changes?

The rule only works if schedules are correct in relation to course requests. The course requests are still up, you would be justified in insisting on a change past the date.

It's true the kid didn't see what electives s/he actually got until now. But sure s/he knew what electives were requested... that's enough information to request schedule changes from.

Gradebook blocked still for WJ

Teachers are showing in the Parent Square app

Is there some kind of secret to getting guidance counselors to respond? My kid’s schedule was missing a required core subject. I got in touch with them Monday morning and now he’s added into a class but for the wrong grade. I can’t seem to get any further response. IEP coordinator is also on these emails.

Exactly. And this is the reason that my kid is requesting a course change. Rising senior. If they had known prior to the deadline what they were placed in then the would have requested the change then.

Still no schedule in Parentvue Course Schedule for my 8th grader, but it is in Grade Book.
HS student schedule is in Schedule.

So disorganized.

WJ 10th-12th graders still don’t have schedules, unless they caught the brief release last week. Though teachers are still in ParentSquare.

Ooh, how?

I don’t really know. Someone’s brother helped them change words in the website code to reveal their schedules. I’m not even sure which site they hacked.

That’s ridiculous if schools are sending out info on an app they’ve never circulated information about. Chris Cram and his communications cronies should be replaced.

🙄 from mcps earlier this week "By December, we will transition communications to ParentSquare (which owns Remind). You are already receiving communications from MCPS through ParentSquare.

None of that tells parents to download the Parent Square app.

You don't need the app.

No but you do need to set up yet another account and password. It's too much.

You do not need to use the website. It sends an email and/or SMS text.

Do we know why it is so late?

I assume it’s intentional. It’s what they said they would do and the teachers are in ParentSquare so they have the info. Assume they’re trying to avoid feedback?

That’s a pretty dangerous games if they screw up scheduling and kids need certain classes to graduate or complete a prerequisite or whatever
