The bolded has nothing to do with this flood. All alerts were sent out and the NWS was fully staffed.

The National Weather Service office in New Braunfels, which delivers forecasts for Austin, San Antonio and the surrounding areas, had extra staff on duty during the storms, Runyen said.

Where the office would typically have two forecasters on duty during clear weather, they had up to five on staff.

“There were extra people in here that night, and that’s typical in every weather service office — you staff up for an event and bring people in on overtime and hold people over,” Runyen said.

While flood warnings were sent out, the old time staffers knew the people in the county to contact...that institutional knowledge was lost and as a result, communications that might have happened without Trump, didn't happen at all.

It is going to be so difficult to make progress on protecting ourselves and our families from climate related disasters want a good chunk of the country just doesn't care and doesn't want to take any action.
