Congratulations on having no life outside of work and not even desiring a life. We’re super happy for you. Now let the adults talk . . . . |
Yes … the answer is to have an extra $1500 in your budget, a job that has the flexibility to let you leave early one day a week, and a stay at home spouse. Easy peasy. |
| RTO sucks, even with nice colleagues. I’m in CF and we’ve had full time telework since the pilot in 2008. My commute is hellacious. No one around me is happy. I feel like I missed my opportunity with the DRP and VERA/VSIP. I hope they do another round. |
Hang in there fellow CFer! Agree everyone is unhappy, particularly the managers. Wish I was old enough for VERA, would have taken it in a heartbeat. |
| +1. No telework is allowed in CF whatsoever. |
yeah, i think the "dock" they provided for the post-2020 laptops is underpowered on the USB-C port and just loses its brain. it seems to happen more often on knockoff docks. the whole connection drops, which is annoying if you're running your PIV through the keyboard connected to the dock. |
Yes this has been happening to me long before the rto and doge. |
It gets so bad sometimes I pretty much cannot use the monitors. Just so stupid. When I call IT they claim they have never heard of this issue happening. |
But didn’t you read MU’s email? We’re just going back to how it was pre-Covid!
|
| So are people just going to dutifully keep doing this waiting to be old enough for VERA, a better VSIP, or a job offer which lets be honest in DC isn’t easy right now no matter how great you are. Like once Atkins arrives, is no one/no group of people going to try to get in front of him to be like let’s just recognize it was NOT like this pre Covid. There was 2 (3?) days wk telework. Certain regions and parts of CF were entirely telework. Not saying you can just put a Teams meeting on Paul’s calendar but the chair does meet w people across the commission on various work issues. Ppl will just go into those work meetings and kiss @$$ and say nothing? So he can be like gee everyone seems fine, morale is great. Maybe it’s just me but I’m not getting why everyone is soooo scared. Not saying one person speaking changes anything - in fact that person gets branded as lazy - but every person in every meeting ever w him, his chief of staff, his counsel - something could click. |
I am hoping that because PA is old and rich and not looking for his next promotion like MU that he will be more willing to take back control of the agency. Then again, he's also old and rich and might just say how it's easy to just have one of your five on call nannies handle all kids activities. |

Don’t worry — the rockstar union is solving the problem. Trust the plan.
(Haven’t heard a THING from the union in awhile, so I guess they’re working hard.). |
WTF are you talking about?? He knows full well what’s going on. He knows what the TW posture was pre Covid, what the CBA requires, etc. He doesn’t need a random staff member to brief him on it. Whether he’ll give a damn or have the courage to stand up to RV is another story. |
What were the 4 phases he referred to? |
You must not be a member. I’ve heard plenty. |
