Urban thirty-something Canadian woman here....I highly recommend Judith & Charles and John Fluevog. Oh, the pretty things I could buy with American dollars. Go nuts!!

Majority of that list is made in China

Trudeau has been on a world tour this past month probably setting up trade and military deals. It’s going to be painful but not to the point where they are going to surrender and get annexed.

Canada is unified against Trump. This makes a difference because they will be willing to suffer. Only about 40-45 percent of Americans support the tariff.

+1. Trump voter here, but happy to vacation Up North to take advantage of the plummeting Canadian Dollar. Good times!

We’re not sending our best.

Please carve out for small business, especially local and minority owned businesses. The goal is not to bankrupt local entrepreneurs.

Actually, you’ll probably see more. Maybe layered over Roots hoodies and accessorized with La Canadienne, Santana Canada, and Sorel boots. If I have to, I’ll even pretend to like poutine and maple syrup. And I’ll be clutching a sunflower. There are LOTS of us! And we value and appreciate our Canadian neighbors. 🇨🇦🇺🇦🍁

Well, you’ll be disappointed to learn most of Roots clothing isn’t made in Canada, and neither are Sorel boots.

Thanks for the update. I am disappointed to learn that about Sorel boots, so glad that I splurged on La Canadienne instead. FWIW, I found these brands not because I was looking specifically for Canadian companies, but because I was looking for great products. I also have two lovely guitars made by Canadian companies.

Ahem. And I’d guess that if that’s true, some of them still have limited understanding re: tariffs and how they work.
Remember that Trump “loves the poorly educated “ and not all of them googled “tariffs” after the election.

Lots of those people support Trump. Too bad!

Not how any of this works. Farmers can't just go out to their fields and press some buttons to change what and how much grows. This will drive prices UP not down.

As you say they will not be able to adjust to the new market. So they will have more product than they can sell at the original prices, so prices will go down.

Once again, that is not how any of this works. It's not some mystery how tariffs a d trade wars affect economies. Open a book, learn from history, and understand that this will in no way make anything cheaper, you utter moron.
