Hegseth Hearing Live Now

How many people have you directly supervised?
How big of a budget have you managed?
Your last job was as a weekend tee vee host, can you explain to me what skills are transferable, if any?

I mean it's great that Senators are pointing out his drinking and abuse but where are the questions asking about his qualifications? Make him explain!

They did ask him that. And then a Republican said they had a lot of nerve to ask that because what were the qualifications to be a senator. (As if running a huge Federal agency with responsibility for nuclear weapons and hundreds of thousands of young lives is the same as voting on bills and managing a small congressional staff).

Then a Republican tried to demonstrate Hegseth’s street cred by asking how many push ups he can do and what size billets a gun holds. No joke.

Hi Hillary!

Such a lame reply. Gabbard is unfit and a traitor. She openly pushed Russian propaganda and support Assad in Syria… you know the “leader” who used chemical weapons on his own citizens.

She’s a traitor who has served in our military and done several tours overseas.

You should know that this country have convicted service for treason. From Benedict Arnold to Korbein Schultz this country has had people in the military who have sold their country out for 40 pieces of silver.

Reminds me when my college ROTC son came home complaining about having to carry a female's rucksack in a training event. She was holding back the platoon. There may be a place for her in the military, but it would not be in ground combat.

Just shut up with your fake stories

Many probably don’t but they aren’t allowed to cross Trump.

“Aren’t allowed?”

These are grown men, in Washington not Moscow.

Don’t name excuses for them. History will see all of Trump’s co-conspirators through a crystal clear lens.

+100. No one is promised a seat in Congress or to continue it. They are elected to do a job. Are they doing the job? From where I'm seating many of these folks need to be sent home as they are wasting Americans time and money.

Willing to take my chances on a teenager over a womanizing drunk.

Not to mention any and every confederate solder and officer (whom he wants to restore those names to military bases).

Thank you. I'm watching the clips. I really wish Dems would stick on this one theme instead of going down the sexual assault path. We know the American public doesn't care about SA.

He's making a terrible point because he already acknowledge that there are women in combat doing amazing jobs. So either the military is letting unqualified people into combat or the standards are fine.

He is the picture of unqualified. Should he be confirmed, though, it hardly matters. Trump will fire him within a year at the outside, probably closer to a matter of months.

Do you think Trump even cares enough to bother firing people this time?

Trump who....oh the old guy at the golf course.

And clearly said Senator doesn't understand that the job of a Senator is to be a representative and advocate for his state, while working with other Senators to find compromise in that benefits the American people, and doing the duties as laid in the Constitution. Maybe if said Senator better understood his role he would be doing a better job in these hearings.

The unbelievable part is that he could not be hired as a janitor in the DOD because of his background but it's all right to make him in charge of DOD!!!

This. High schoolers can be very thoughtful and know when to ask questions.

They also care about the future.

Anyone? Is this a done deal?

Honestly, his lack of experience and vocal protests about women in the military make him unfit. The fact he cheated on his wife or has a drinking problem aren’t relevant. I think Patel and Gabbard are bigger threats to America than Hegseth.

It makes him susceptible to "Honey Pots" which leads to blackmail, extortion, bribes, you name it. Even Pete said the reason he settled the sexual assault allegation was because he was afraid it would get out and hurt his career. That was just a career on FOX news.
