I'm now okay with Hegseth being confirmed. I am certain he will muck things up and will not survive four years. Let him fly his crazy flag. There will be another scandal since he has problems with drinking, sex, and self control in general. He will self immolate.

We'll see. Hegseth is a f'up. He mismanaged two nonprofits with a dozen or fewer staff and he has a weak character. He simply will not be up to the task of managing the military. What he will be good at is stirring up cultural wars and getting air time. That's what Trump primarily chose him for. The DoD is an enormous institution with its own culture and priorities and doesn't like to be told what to do; it will find ways to resist this sec of defense the way it has resisted all the past ones.
