They did ask him that. And then a Republican said they had a lot of nerve to ask that because what were the qualifications to be a senator. (As if running a huge Federal agency with responsibility for nuclear weapons and hundreds of thousands of young lives is the same as voting on bills and managing a small congressional staff).

Then a Republican tried to demonstrate Hegseth’s street cred by asking how many push ups he can do and what size billets a gun holds. No joke. [/quote]

And clearly said Senator doesn't understand that the job of a Senator is to be a representative and advocate for his state, while working with other Senators to find compromise in that benefits the American people, and doing the duties as laid in the Constitution.  Maybe if said Senator better understood his role he would be doing a better job in these hearings.[/quote]
