Didn’t the average Cabinet member last about a year under 45? #ETTD

I predict tenures will be even shorter this time around. Trump is going to flouncing from tantrum to tantrum and heads will roll.

Do you think it is mere coincidence that Hegseth paid hush money to a women he “slept with” (or sexually assaulted), while he was married and was expecting a child? Trump probably considers him his protege.

(How must these stories make sexual assault survivors feel. Truly, no one cares.)

We need a "Gang of Four" Republican senators who will stand up to Trump and say "NO!" to these unqualified, goofball Trump cabinet nominees.

Collins (ME) and Murkowski (AK) are two obvious candidates. Who could join them? Cassidy (LA)? Young (IN)? Anyone else? Maybe Ernst (IA)?

Anyone? Is this a done deal?

Honestly, his lack of experience and vocal protests about women in the military make him unfit. The fact he cheated on his wife or has a drinking problem aren’t relevant. I think Patel and Gabbard are bigger threats to America than Hegseth.

This sums it up. He is not qualified to run the Pentagon, but blocking Gabbard and Patel are more important.

With all of their macho posturing, you would think the Republicans could grow some balls and turn down all unqualified nominees.

Who said they are limited to turning down two? Their role as laid out in the Constitution is to serve as a check on the executive. Not to lick his boots.

That’s cute. Do you think any Republican will actually vote against him? And deal with the wrath of Trump and the MAGAS?

WTF.

Biden really needs to exercise his authority and declassify the FBI's report. Insane not to provide it to Senators.

Biden is more about protecting the traditions in the senate vs following the law.

Disagree that a drinking problem isn't relevant. Alcoholics are liars, who are often out of control when drunk (there are several incidences of him getting carried out of places, per Senator Kelly). It might be one thing if he was remotely qualified, but it's another that he's not in the least. How will the service members respect him?

Many probably don’t but they aren’t allowed to cross Trump.

“Aren’t allowed?”

These are grown men, in Washington not Moscow.

Don’t name excuses for them. History will see all of Trump’s co-conspirators through a crystal clear lens.

Yes it is.

Russia, North Korea and Iran also approve.

They'll all be sending him congratulatory alcohol and getting him drunk to get one by him.

Which is not Jesus or thinking it is cool to crawl around in the mud with a rifle . Those faux macho R’s missed the point of “A Few Good Men.”

Proof positive: one of the R senators just asked how many push ups he can do.

That is such pathetic, Trumpian, strongman thinking. This job requires a brain, judgement, morals and integrity.

But if they got that, they would not support Trump in the first place.

+100. And folks should grill him or morals, integrity, critical thinking, judgement, and budget using the R’s stated goal of efficiency and less dollars.

What ideas does he have around readiness, recruitment and supporting military person and families given budget realities?

What are his views on conduct unbecoming of an officer or enlisted personnel?

Given that he’s made negative comments around women in the military as recent as November what does this suggest about his ability to read the room? Or his ability to work diplomatically?

If he’s a change agent, what large scale change has he implemented or overseen?

Republican questioners intimated that the key to recruitment is to eliminate DEI initiatives.

Like that will make the military more appealing to ethnic minority group members, women and LGBTQ individuals.

At this point, I hope all the young men who voted for the felon enlist. Let them get killed because of their gross incompetence and greed to take over other nations by force.

No watching but has ANYONE asked him point blank how he thinks he is qualified for the job?
How many people have you directly supervised?
How big of a budget have you managed?
Your last job was as a weekend tee vee host, can you explain to me what skills are transferable, if any?

I mean it's great that Senators are pointing out his drinking and abuse but where are the questions asking about his qualifications? Make him explain!

Greenland, Canada, England...then what?

He got drunk in public and yelled, “Kill all Muslims?”

Honestly, how can we put someone with those views and that judgement (coupled with a lack of respect for accepted rules of war) in charge of our weapons and troops?

Please pick up your phone and reach out to your representative, if he or she is Republican.
