| This only work with young girls. Because there’s no such thing as “soft old woman”. Hopefully she learns a legitimate trade when she ages out. |
This is so depressing to just sit back and watch your daughter make every mistake that you had hoped she would avoid A sense of failure as a parent like no other. And the shame that goes with it is aweful |
| I’m not even going to click the link. It’s stupid. More power to anyone who can trust a man to take care of them though |
| My DH takes care of me so I'm kind of a soft woman, I guess. I'm not proud of it. I'm not embarrassed. It's just our situation. |
You should be proud of it. |
If the stay at home wife is married to an entrepreneur, trust me, she’s still working. She’s just working for the husband without pay. |
| Most men died earlier when they were the sole provider. Feminism was their relief from financial stress. It will be interesting to see if for the first time in history women die earlier with the Gen X’ers. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens |
Everyone should soften by 20%. Don’t let greedy CEOs kill you or your spouse. |
It leads to BBC. I clicked it; it’s fine. I’m not sure what you are so worried about, BBC is a legitimate and respected news source. |
Unlikely. Females are hardier and longer living from from an embryonic stage through death and it has nothing to do with these gender dynamics. |
black people created the trend of women quitting their jobs to be a kept woman instead? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |
i agree! we had kids early and now have 2 kids on college an are mid 40s. we ar run a good spot financially. college is all paid for. i’m trying to encourage my DH to maybe switch careers and do spending he loves. he’s always wanted to be a teacher or work at a school in some capacity. Wish he would make the switch. His job is insanely stressful. |
My DH is going to purse academia as soon as our youngest is in college and we aren’t tied to our school district. He doesn’t care about being tenure track but I still know it will be difficult to get. But he at least wants to see what happens. I fully support it. |
Trad-girlfriend and trad-wife are certainly adjacent to the Cozy-girl / softgirl trend. |
You mean supported by the unpaid labor of millions of anonymous women, who were given no autonomy over their own lives? Who were entirely reliant on men? Division of labor is fine—smart, even, sometimes. I have no problem with people ordering their lives in whatever way suits them and their families best. But feminism was important because it gave women choices. Before the advent of the “radical feminism” you so casually dismiss, a woman whose husband died, or left her, or abused her or their children would have had a very limited set of options to choose from. Few of them were very pleasant. |
