My DH is a Republican and on Wall Street. He won’t ever vote for Trump. Not just because of Jan. 6 and the Supreme Court (he doesn’t believe in abortion, but believes in exceptions for rape and the health of the mother which is in jeopardy in many states). But because Trump doesn’t represent conservative fiscal values. Plain and simple. He’s just a culture warrior. Remember when the deficit mattered? Remember when Republicans weren’t all about cultural outrage, but cared about the economy?

Former President Trump ran up the national debt by about twice as much as President Biden. https://www.axios.com/2024/06/24/trump-biden-debt-deficits-election

And Trump’s tariffs and war on immigrants is bad for business. Candidate Trump has proposed significant tariff hikes as part of his presidential campaign; we estimate that if imposed, his proposed tariff increases would hike taxes by another $524 billion annually and shrink GDP by at least 0.8 percent, the capital stock by 0.7 percent, and employment by 684,000 full-time equivalent jobs. Our estimates do not capture the effects of retaliation, nor the additional harms that would stem from starting a global trade war.
Academic and governmental studies find the Trump-Biden tariffs have raised prices and reduced output and employment, producing a net negative impact on the US economy.

Inflation is global and the Federal Reserve is in charge of raising interest rates. Biden is doing a great job with the economy he inherited and he actually cares more about the deficit than Trump.

I'm not surprised. The open border has tanked the schools. People are pretty pissed about the resulting push to change boundaries forcing UMC kids to go to high immigrant population schools in order to make them look better on paper.

Your flaming can't change my mind so don't even bother.

What the hell are you prattling on about, you loon?

Are you talking about Don the Con’s little boo-boo and ridiculous giant bandage?

You are insane. Certifiable. Calling a gun shot wound a "little boo-boo." Nuts. I hope you get the mental help you so clearly need.

Proof the crazy liberals like yourself have lost their minds.

+1000
AND op asked: "Anyone on the ground in VA know what's going on?"

Yes, the left has gone way toooo far left in VA. It's turning off both moderates and dems. Plus no one wants to vote for biden he's a senile corpse as PP has already said.

IMO dems have spend the last 6-8 years embarrassing themselves and turning dems voters off.

I 100% agree. Not sure why this has to be spelled out, but Democrats seem to be absolutely clueless.

DRTL. Biden has two wars started on his watch. That's much worse than mean 3 am tweets. Inflation is up 40% on Bidens watch, then there is the issue he's half dead!

Have you been shot for your country? Have you taken a bullet for the us and to run your nasty mouth?

SIT DOWN!!!

Uh oh. Grandpa in flyover country is mad! Right now he’s probably putting on his Maga hat and shirt and driving his Trump truck around town to “own the libs!” Lol.

Actually its you purple hair clown losers who are furious now.

I don’t belong to a cult. I’m not furious because I don’t make politics my whole identity or life. Like you MAGAS with your tee shirts, hats, bumper stickers, Trump bibles (lol) mainlining FOX news. And while I don’t have anything against people with purple hair, I have a natural hair color. Also, unlike your average Trump voter, I’m highly educated. Like most of the DMV that votes Democratic, I’m also wealthy. Unlike all you Magas who think Trump cares about your poor a&$.

We aren’t the world’s police officers, nor are we in a war. How exactly was Biden going to stop Putin and Hamas? Please explain. With you know facts and policy.
