The cafe in my office has chicken salad available every day for lunch. They've scaled down for service a lot since most of the office went remote but clearly enough people like it if they keep making it (and most employees are <40). It's my go -to sandwich if I don't like the day's hot entree options. It's a perfectly reasonable summer lunch, served cold, of course. I would think if OPs husband is inviting a coworker to his home for lunch he knows him enough to decide what to serve. |
I plan to protest outside it! What a waste of a nasty restaurant for a good location. |
Without mayo, yes. I have a lobster shack in walking distance of my home and get that every time. |
You would care if you were forced to eat it at lunch with no other options because you were a guest. I would be so offended if this was served. |
+1 lobster roll with butter only. Never mayo what a way to ruin lobster. |
Then why is OP asking? Why didn't she hop to it and run into the kitchen to prepare this lunch? |
First of all, serving a guest for lunch is weird. It’s a weird time of day. |
Such a child. |
It’s still shredded chicken mixed with random ingredients. Served on white bread or some fatty croissant. Such a low class I can’t believe people would serve this to a guest. The only thing worse would be tuna salad. |
OP just make a damn quiche with a side salad and call it a day! |
LOL you have a pretty low bar for being offended. You could reasonably be disappointed that you didn't like the food choice and make do with any side dishes. But to be offended suggests you think the host was deliberately trying to make you uncomfortable, insult you, etc. Just because he couldn't read your mind that you have different food preferences. |
I am so glad to learn about this restaurant! I am going to look for it when traveling, and will hope that it opens up closer to home. |
NP. What would you serve? |
I bet you bring Jell-O molds to Thanksgiving! |
Ugh! Eggs mixed with random ingredients! So gross! I'm totally offended that you would serve that Not really, I love quiche and I love chicken salad. But quiche is no more likely to be uniformly loved than chicken salad. |
