So stupid. Men eat chicken salad.

Did I say no men do? It's 2 sentences, how did you get so confused?

A doctor asked me once what food I craved most, and she expected me to say pasta, but my answer was, yes, chicken salad!

I like to make either Buffalo chicken salad or curry chicken salad. Good protein for lunch that can be made ahead of time.

Don't listen to the weirdos here who freak out at the mere mention of mayonnaise.

I’m ok with mayonnaise and most chicken salad, but buffalo anything tastes like vomit.

It's a pepper sauce what is so scary? I'm going to guess you have a lot of food aversions and an extremely limited palate. You're probably not going to OPs home anyway.

I live in the south and we have a “fast food” place that is all chicken salad all the time, I think they have something like 12 varieties.

I would be leery of it for food borne illness reasons.
Make sure house and kitchen are immaculate, keep washing your hands as you work, etc.

NP. Your comment definitely implied that most men don’t eat chicken salad, so you can drop the shocked pikachu reaction.

I heard one is coming to Tysons near Whole Foods at Idylwood.

Food borne illness from Mayo is actually very uncommon. This board is obsessive over it though.

Serve on croissants to make it a little fancier.

There are many other dishes I would go with that would be classier. However, if your DH has chatted this up as a main attraction, then you must make it. Pair it with excellent artisan breads and fantastic lettuce and condiment choices - arugula, frisée, radicchio, fresh plum tomatoes, etc fancy condiments, and expect them to eat it open face with silverware. Serve as a scoop on a large butter lettuce leaf or in a hulled out artichoke, on chilled china plates with silver. Tablecloths and linens napkins and crystal, to elevate the humble chicken salad.

I hope this is sarcasm.

Not at all, I eat and enjoy almost everything. Just don’t think buffalo sauce tastes good. A lot of people don’t. But you’re right, I’m not going to OP’s house.

For the record, my very favorite chicken salad recipe has tarragon and walnuts. Lots of people wouldn’t like those flavors, probably, but I wouldn’t insult them over it.
