Differences between NVSL divisions

We’ve bounced around a mid level division to upper middle. Sadly the higher the division the worse the sportsmanship seems to get, from (some of the) head coaches teen role model swimmers and, in one case, even trickling down to younger kids.

Not an OKM parent but the parent of another D1 pool swimmer (not one of the Big 3 so use your powers of deductive reasoning) and my kid said the OKM kids were by far the nicest. Apparently he really enjoyed the chit chat in clerk of course 😂. FWIW, I hope OKM stays in D1. They have some great swimmers on their team.

One lesson learned by CB seniors this year: items stolen from other teams can be tracked to your houses, courtesy of air tags.

What did they steal?

I cannot even imagine high schoolers on our swim team stealing from the other team. What on earth?!?

If this stuff is happening at D1 teams, is there anything NVSL can do, or put their foot down as an org about acceptable team behavior? SMH.

Lower division here, but our coach has always been strict on Sportsmanship. Heard about a couple of taunting comments made by team members at one meet to other team's swimmers and said if this happened again, involved swimmers would be pulled from meets for the remainder of the season. Zero tolerance. Never happened again.

Sounds like this has been happening for a while with some D1/D2 teams. Where does NVSL stand?

(OKM parent) Oh my heavens, that is so kind to share! We loved visiting Donaldson Run and Highlands. Both meets were really fun. We will never have the depth across all age groups that your teams have, but there were a few nice races spattered across our meets. Thank you for hosting, and thank your kids for being lovely.

Specifically, the O in a sequence of signs that spell out Overlee. It's no where near the first time, thus the tracker.

Always fun to see the keyboard warriors on DCUM. Neither Tuckahoe nor Overlee have mechanisms to skip the waitlist. Chesterbrook resets their waitlist every year, supposedly on first come first serve basis. Overlee at 10+ years and Tuckahoe at 4+ years.
