Dp Are you kidding? She has been swiped out for YEARS! There are a ton of people who would have loved if she failed in the past and failed now. |
+1 Pretty gratifying that she is now the most successful pop star of all time. I guess that really gets under the haters’ skin. ![]() |
But. She. Does. It. Her band and dancing is all live. The vocals not all of them. How is that insulting exactly? |
She's not completely live. She uses backing tracks like most popular acts. During her show there will be times when the voice you hear is recorded. This is normal for a pop concert. Dave was just saying hey we're not that. FF is something else. He was pumping up HIS crowd who were there to see a rick show. That's his job. It was really only tangentially about Taylor and had nothing to do with her band (who doesn't use backing tracks). This has been made into something more than it is for absolutely no reason. Y'all need to chill (and maybe experience the joy of a Foo Fighters show!). |
^rOck show |
And yet, you still have the need to insult others for her. She must have the most unaware fandom ever. “No one should put down another woman EVER.” “How DARE you insult the queen, I must insult you!” |
The hilarious thing here is that he was making a joke about the *fact* that Swift uses backing vocals during her shows (while Foo Fighers do not and you are hearing a truly live and singular performance when you see them which is something worth bragging about -- it's awesome) but Swift and her fans are like "how DARE he insult Taylor's band. Uh... he didn't. He knows they play live. It's possible he knows them because that's not a huge world and Grohl has been around for a long time. Foo Fighters are like his 19th or 20th band. The first Foo Fighter album was literally just Grohl recording a whole ass album by himself playing all the instruments and doing the vocals alone as a way to get through his grief after Kurt Cobain's suicide. Then he formed a band and called it the Foo Fighters. Grohl is one of the realest mofos in music and he gets to be proud of that and if he wants to make a joke about TSwift using backing vocals on Eras (which she obviously does) I Do. Not. Care. Team Dave forever. Taylor is a billionaire with a million Grammys. Somehow she'll get through this trying time ![]() |
Are you saying that as long as a statement is factual, it can never be insulting? |
He vocals are live. |
dp Where was the insult you speak about? Saying you get under people's skin isn't an insult. And the fact is if Taylor was a man Dave wouldn't have said anything. |
How come you are allowed to defend Dave Grohl who is also wildly successful but, we aren't allowed to defend Taylor Swift. And if we do than we are called 'rabid' fans. What should we call you then? What is good for the goose is good for the gander! |
Eh, I just think he was making a joke. I really don't think it was anything deeper than that. The fact that Dave is widely known as a super nice guy makes me give him the benefit of the doubt. |
To quote the tortured poet Taylor Swift: "You need to calm down" |
What exactly warrants you all to disperse into the ether to "defend her." What does Taylor Swift need you all to do? Nothing. Taylor moved on, let it go. |
Not all of them. She uses backing tracks especially on the very dance focused numbers -- there are points in the show when you can tell she's singing along not just singing. Which is fine (pop fans are fine with backing tracks because it's more about the whole experience and seeing their favorite act on stage and the dancing and sets and the fact that some of the music is not 100% live is okay especially when it ensures a more consistent experience from show to show) but it's also fine for Grohl to be like "we don't use backing tracks -- everything you hear is happening live." |
