Dave Grohl vs Taylor Swift

He called his show the "errors tour" because they are live and make errors. Why would he do that?

What do you mean there is more to it?

He randomly took a swipe and someone who has done nothing to him, it's was like blindsiding someone.

I think why this blew up is because it's super disappointing when a good hearted person does something like this.

But people are not perfect so DG is not perfect.

The bolded is not accurate. While Taylor herself didn't do anything, her fans were sending DEATH THREATS to his daughter. She had a chance to do something about it but simply uttering a few words, and she chose not to.

Look I am far from a Swiftie and don't think she's above reproach. But he came off as a jealous old man.

His show was not full, even Paul McCartney went to see Swift, and he was sour grapes. So did what all old white men do, claim that she was "faking it". I mean, just say nothing? It was really unnecessary.

Do I think the Swifties react a little insane to any criticism of her, yes yes I do. But if ANYONE should be able to deal with some heat it's Grohl.

100%!

Other celebs have stepped up and told their fan bases to stop bullying people but Taylor doesn’t have the balls to say it to her fan base.

Death threats are not warranted, at all. But, to go back to playground politics, he started it by trying to drag her efforts publicly. Again, his daughter has nothing to do with this and the internet mob of insanity needs to calm down. He said something rude, Taylor responded, it should end there. I realize the internet doesn't work that way, but people who send death threats on the internet are hard to contain across the board.

Agree with this. Heck even his bandmate was at her concert.

She absolutely should have made a statement to her fans. However he should have reminded his daughter that they do the same exact things she accused Taylor of doing. I don’t think Dave drove to London.

So what if he is jealous? I would think right now every performer is jealous of her in some way. Can you outline how exactly some one can poke fun of Taylor’s show WITHOUT having “sour grapes” and “doing it because she is a young woman?”
He just said, she isn’t doing it all live. And she ISN”T. She has back ground vocals of herself in harmonies. He doesn’t. He is just his band some amps and lights. She has: back up vocals, back up dancers, a ton of costumes changes, video screens, choreography, moving platforms etc. He is just up there with is band. It is different. Can no one point that out?

I think he was not being serious…it’s Dave Grohl.

This person is clueless he sold out both his shows in London.

I have not seen the Eras Tour but Foo Fighters live concerts are the BEST shows ever. Dave Grohl has sincerely been able to stay relevant in music since 1990! That is some staying power!

Yea sure ... in your inaccurate view of the whole world Taylor controls everyone and anything bad that happens is her fault.

The appropriate thing would be, if this is even true, for Dave to address with Taylor. Think about how many people probably get death threats from crazy Swifties. She is supposed to address every single one? But instead for him to make a false accusation, passive aggressively, and uncharacteristically. Someone go check on your boy.

Agree - just makes him come off sad and pathetic.

Anonymous wrote:OP - BTW the more and more I am reading about Taylor Swift the less I like her. I think she is emotionally stunted (a la Britney Spears) and has a touch of the mean girl tendency. At the minimum she values profit over anything. She could easily reach out to her Swifties and tell them to stop bullying people but she doesn't want to push back on the people who buy her stuff.

So a man has to offer his opinion about a woman in his industry for no reason (he doesn't work with her) and she's the mean girl?

Methinks a lot of men are threatened by women like Taylor Swift. Dave Grohl is a legend, but he didn't hold up our economy last summer.
