Let us know how you feel after he has been your coach for > 4 years. Development still happening or are you just doing the same thing you've always done? How many of your teammates have left because they want new coaching and leaving the club is the only way to get one. |
AND 2010s Confirmed |
| Guessing 07s and 09s stay with McLean coaches. Question is who takes 2011s and 2012s |
It be interesting how many of the 08 Brave girls will want to stay with him. |
I can confirm that it’s not many. |
She makes more than GP at Arlington (double the size). Someone is about to get a pay raise. |
For a nearly $5m organization, her pay is actually quite low. |
|
Says McLean parent. 😂. They will be there if MV is there. |
Does MV have a good college network like BL, NM, and CW? |
08s want MV because he will pick his team for FXU but don’t want the same coach for 4 years. |
Well Arlington $8m and he makes less. I think he is getting a raise. lol |

I don't have a personal stake in the MYC/VYS/BRYC "merger" issue. I've had some kids play with VYS and BRYC, both rec and travel for a couple years, and have nothing bad to say about either one of them. I still have a kid who plays house with each of them as well.
My take on the issue is that, just as Arlington is a strong club that draws from most of Arlington County, there should me a much stronger club that draws from Fairfax County. Fairfax is too big for one "Fairfax" club, but that region that includes VYS/BRYC/MYS (and maybe a few other clubs) could be consolidated into a much larger and more competitive club. Maybe it's Central Fairfax or Nothern Fairfax (the southern part of Fairfax seem well-served by SYC and Alexandria). I know change can be hard, but performance seems to show that the smaller clubs in that area would benefit from merging their assets (fields, coaches, players). Just my two-cents. |
Lots of families, mine included, prefer small clubs. My kids were never going to play college, so we didn't care about the top leagues. We did care about getting decent practice fields and coaching and found that we were better off having a kid on the top or only team at a small club than on a middle team at a large club |
I don’t think that’s the issue. For me, it’s clear that whoever coaches for a particular age group will favor their current players and field preference. If it’s a brave coach, expect that age group to be 90% brave players and with practices in Robinson or Woodson. Then in year 2, that same age group goes to a MYS coach. Expect half of that team to turnover back to the MYS coaches players from two years ago. The key is who gets the U16 and U17 ages because of recruiting. If MYS coaches, expect Brave players to be searching for plan B during these critical years. If Brave coaches, you get the point. |
