I tipped over the line this week and can’t support Biden

Anyone have any arguments other than “Trump is worse.” I agree, but that alone just isn’t enough anymore.

Yeah, shut up, hold your nose, and vote for Biden. Period.

Trump is worse? Like the bubonic plague is worse than the common cold? Yes, like that. You want the bubonic plague? Then sit it out, because the bubonic plague is what you're going to get. If you want to snuffle through a cold, then get off your butt and vote for Biden. Period. No choice there. Vote. For. Biden.

I love it when people tell me who to vote for. Get over yourself. I'll be writing in Nikki Haley or staying home.

And enacting a federal abortion ban.
That’s what this thread is about

As a male, I don't give a rat's ass about abortion. So sick of even hearing about abortion.

+1 there is no way there would ever be a complete nation-wide abortion ban. Tired of the constant hysterical doom-sayers. It’s literally as ridiculous as when Republicans say “the guvment gunna come to yer house and take yer guns even though yer just a law-abiding citizen!”

Like no, they’re not. Massive overreacting.

Everyone previously said there was no way they would overturn Roe v. Wade.

Anyway, when I opened this thread I thought OP would be complaining about Biden’s age or something. And they’re complaining about Israel. How do you think Trump would have handled this?

Actually the bubonic plague is more treatable than the cold so your saying Trump is better

It's Israel, not "Jews".

Oh I was actually giving you a freebie, by hypothesizing about if Biden were arming Hamas to kill Jews.

Are you saying that Hamas is fighting only against Israel? I think that’s right, but most Zionists believe that Hamas is anti-Jewish not anti-Israeli.
I'm not a zionist or even jewish. I'm just realistic about the fact that Hamas started a war against Israel. I do get that they have legitimate grievances, but honestly the years have shown that they don't actually want to live in peace with Israel. They're angry and want to go back to some imagined past, rather than build prosperity for themselves and their children. How to convince them to give up their grudge, idk. I'd like Israel to pull back from attacking Gaza, and so would Biden. He's doing what a US President can to bring peace.

Identity politics and tribalism isn't even mid discourse. You all sound like people who discuss at length the traits and temperaments of labradoodles vs poodles.

Please. Let’s get real. Most of the anti-Israel rhetoric is deeply rooted - and quite clearly so by the multiple tropes about Jews referenced - in contempt for Jews. Let’s stop the sanctimony.

Yeah, guess what? The days of using these so-called tropes to rope off areas of legitimate criticism are over.

In addition to it being an underhanded tactic to censor others, it clearly hasn’t helped anyone live in safety.

I’m sure you would love for others to run scared when you slander them as anti-semitic, but more and more people are standing up, not having your censorship, fully recognizing the right of Israelis (Jew or otherwise) to live in safety, but not abiding by your refusal to provide that same courtesy to Israel’s neighbors.

Yes, Israel declared war on Gaza because Gazans attacked Israel. But it is hardly genocide. War is war. Genocide is deliberately going house to house killing people. Which is what Palestinians did in Israel.

No, you’re never going to find success selling stock Zionist lies again. Not happening. I know there will be lots of consternation, but you got 75 - 80 years of a head start.

Now, Israel is going to have to start the healing process by acknowledging what it’s done and making the difficult decisions related to making it right.

Your post is exhibit A of how “anti Israel” is antisemitism. Zionist lies … those sneaky lying Jews. And the weaponizing of Zionism which is nothing more than Jews wanting to return to safety in a homeland they were driven from by Muslims and Christians.

You have a weird guilty conscience, I guess? How does the concept of lying automatically bridge to “Jews” for you?

Bizarre …

As for Israel, screw Israel. Jews should be able to live safely and in peace with others everywhere, and so should everyone else. I’m no more supportive of somehow insisting that Israel MUST exist as a Jewish homeland than I am that Italy MUST exist as an Italian homeland, or that any country MUST exist for xyz reasons.

Get over yourselves. It’s 2024.

First, the trope of Jews being dishonest is well worn and quite evident on this thread and across social media. Stop gaslighting and/or read up on the dog whistles you are defending or ignorant of. Also, so tired of non Jews who use Jewish tropes telling Jews that they aren’t antisemitic. It’s just ridiculous.

Also, since when are non Jewish Italians a perpetually persecuted group? Were they run out of their homelands and then routinely persecuted by virtually every country they lived over centuries punctuated by an “extermination” that resulted in 5 million dead?

Try again.

DP and don’t think Jews are dishonest. And at the same time I think Zionism is not working. The burden is on Zionists to show how Zionism can protect Palestinian rights. Zionists came to Palestine. Not the other way around.

I think you meant this as a positive … but it’s so damn condescending.

Also, Zionism isn’t working? For who? Hamas? The Arab world who has funded terrorist groups for 70 years to attack Israel and murder Jews?

Also, “Zionism” … which you are conflating with Israel but ok … doesn’t need to explain why terrorist-governed Palestine with a government and population (yes, the celebrations on 10/7 are quite vivid) dedicated to its destruction doesn’t support Palestinian’s rights. That’s on Palestinians and their supporters.

Don’t care about condescending. I’m being honest. I agree that antisemitism exists.

Zionism is not working for anyone who cares about international law. In theory, there is nothing wrong about Jews having a homeland. As applied, it seems like Zionism requires massive violation of international law (occupation, settling civilians on occupied land is a war crime, domicide, mass incarceration, blockades, sieges, and now what the UN and a US court have called “plausible genocide”).

Can Zionism provide a Jewish homeland without these crimes? I’m not optimistic.

PP here. I’m right there with you! Until you say that Biden would like Israel to pull back. Biden could stop this war with a phone call. Why won’t he?

Obviously the answer is that he cares more about what Netanyahu and AIPAC say than what American Democrats say.

Biden is no leader.

You are being obtuse or - and trying to put this delicately - not well informed.

Hamas has the following in its founding charter:

Article Seven of the Charter concludes with a quotation from a hadith: The Day of Judgment will not come until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say, 'O Muslim, O servant of God, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.

Please stop normalizing Jewish hatred, anti semitism, and the terrorist group that is Hamas.

Or even just Rashida Tlaib heading up State. I’d almost pay to witness the white phosphorous rage and cancelling that would ensue …

You are talking in circles and obviously either trying to be confusing, bozo, or yourself confused. I’ll let you decide where you sit. But as written, your post seem dedicated to normalizing Islamic terror of Jewish people than anything else.
