Then stop misusing the word cool. Walk down a middle school hall. It’s baggy clothes, sweats, uggs, legging. None of which are cool. More important is what is flattering on your child and is she comfortable. |
And what brand of baggy clothes and sweats and leggings are cool? The girls love Lululemon. Point blank. That's what's cool to them. No one is misusing the term. You're just being stubborn. |
As a 7th grader I recommend lululemon scuba hoodies ,uggs , Nike air maxes and cool fun converse hightops are the big thing in my school also the white nike socks trend I totally recommend aswell |
The kids don’t give a F about “flattering,”they all wear weird ill-fitting stuff that is also comfortable. “Flattering” is for their middle aged moms. |
The girls that want to stand out care about her clothes looking good on her. If a kid is wearing tights as pants that are two sizes too small someone needs to let her know. If a kid is wearing a crop top and her chubby belly is hanging out, someone needs to help her find the bottoms that are high rise. Enough with Americans being such slobs. Walk through any Walmart and you will see the most unflattering outfits on all ages. Why? |
My 6th grader is in a K-8 and no one wears Lululemon. Sports brands are what’s in. Mainly Nike and Under Armour. For both genders. |
Lululemon but forget about getting it in smaller sizes. Trying to get a size 0 in good colors for shorts is like trying to score Taylor Swift tickets. |
You could take a bit of your own advice. What’s cool for a 15 year old will (and should) be substantially different from what’s cool to a 35 year old. In the teen forum, no one cares what a middle aged woman thinks about how teens should dress. |
White Fox hoodies are very popular, and are more reasonably priced. Cold culture is IMO quite expensive for what you get. Dandy had been having trouble keeping their hoodies in stock, and while they’re expensive, they’re at least a little different. The one I don’t understand is the Fear of God Essentials hoodie. They’re absolutely nothing special for $150+ |
This is a mother’s forum, hopefully there aren’t a bunch of middle schoolers posting. Are you saying that teenagers all fit in one group? They all wear the same thing? That might be true of a slight majority of teens in a regular middle class high school but there are always a group of well dressed teens who don’t care what the other 15 year olds are wearing. They will wear what looks good on them. |
Find a slightly older girl (or her mom) for resale/hand-me-downs. No joke. Frame it as less about the cost (though that’s a great benefit, too!) and more about how the small sizes really are hard to find. Plus, the kids grow so quickly at this age. One day she’s a size 0, the next day she’s a 4. So the other mom appreciates getting some of her money back. |
You’re the one misusing it. |
TO YOU |
DP. Good grief. We are too old to be having a debate here about what is "cool." I think it is pretty clear the OP is asking about what brands are popular among middle school girls. And yes, uggs, crocs, baggy clothes, new balance are all popular.
Baggy clothes that remind you of the 90s are generally popular. My teen is in HS, not middle school, but I'm guessing it's similar in MS. Mine likes clothes from Abercrombie, Aerie, Hollister, Tillys, etc. It's fairly simple if you just let them shop at the stores geared towards teens. The clothes are fairly curated for them. |
Some Brands and clothing items that are popular for MS is Simply Southern, Nike,Kendra Scott,Lulu,Stanley,Owala,Crocs,Nike air max 270, Sol de janerio, Sephora, The North face, and Pura Vida, |
