What colleges are the rest of TJ students (not in the top 20%) going?

Saw some impressive stats with admissions in schools like Purdue, UIUC, Chicago, Brown, etc


Curious - do these admits come with any significant merit scholarships etc?

Eg Brown does not offer merit if kids financial situation does not warrant it.

I assume a large majority of TJ students might not qualify for aid. so even though kids get admissions in these awesome schools, the parents are on the hook?

This will become less the case in future years as, with the admissions changes, low-income students now have a realistic shot to get into TJ where they didn't before.

But yes, at present, most TJ students do not qualify for significant financial aid from elite schools.

I would not have guessed this…keep hearing “full ride from xyz..”

guess some kids who get into uber schools like comp science at CMU do get full ride

Those are merit scholarships not financial aid.
