OP - which school did your kid pick?
|
what on earth. no.
Duke has a Divinity School. Does that affect the largely uber-woke secular student body? No. The Div School is even liberal as far as those settings go. |
I’m curious why the PP said that Cornell “has a more secular vibe.” |
For undergrad, you look at the combination of both program strength and overall school quality. So Duke. |
| Duke is a perennial T10 school so if you're looking just for opportunities go Duke. |
A top ten school with very few programs ranked in the top ten. |
Either is fine. Pick based on best fit. |
|
Cornell
|
Neither school is famous for the likability of its graduates. Are there any other options? |
Look at this chart: https://drafty.cs.brown.edu/csopenrankings/ Cornell #7 Duke #36 Once again Duke not ranked anywhere near the top ten. |
Program strength and overall school quality (peer assessment) So Cornell |
| They're honestly about the same overall, but obviously Cornell has a much more renowned CS program |
|
They're about the same in the cross-yield rankings:
