Also I heard on a podcast today that the republican leader of the state senate said that this wasn’t going to happen.

Are republicans ever going to learn that they are there to represent constituents, and will keep losing elections as they push too far to the right?

They do. The deep pocketed and the bigoted, the power hungry and the authoritarian. They behave accordingly.

It has to happen for the republicans to remain in power. So it will happen.

I think their game is to let her protect abortion rights in the state—blame those baby killing liberals— and then avoid a similar bloodbath in 2024 because people won’t have the abortion issue motivating turnout. The only thing worse for these GOP goblins is a 10 year old rape victim in Wisconsin keeping this issue in the news.

Question is will the Wisconsin Supreme Court throw out a law that bans abortion after 20 weeks?

The GOP needs to find a way to unban abortions so that they can use it to win elections again. The Supreme Court decision was the worst thing that could have happened to their political future.

The current law on the books in Wisconsin is from 1849 and bans abortion at all. Not even mentioning weeks.

Scott Walker signed a different law.

What they wanted was to support abortion bans while the Supreme Court left abortion legal. Blacks are one-third to one-half of abortions, so this reduces the number of future Democrats.

There’s been a pileon of antiabortion laws in Wisconsin. Walker signed a different law on top of the 1849 one that’s still on the books.

I think the Catholic church has a dim future as well. They still carry on about abortion. The priest today tried to make a joke about the newly built and painted youth group space that is ready and now just needs some youths.

Dream on. This institution they was instrumental to the biggest rights roll back ever, that will directly affect the "youths" and they wonder why they are not coming to youth group?

Only there to chauffeur senior parents but I will never give another dime and apparently many others including most of the youth feel the same.

The Catholic Church is done in America. Yes, I realize the Evangelicals were also behind this push, but they are some of the most amoral, power-drunk dirtbags out there. When push comes to shove, which it will, the Evangelicals will hang the Catholics out to dry. And as a former Catholic myself, I certainly won’t be sticking my neck out to help them.
