Isn't there some sort of agreement with the press not to hound Catherine and her children for the same reason? I seem to recall William discussing this at one point as he too lives in fear of what happened to his mom. Or are we to believe that because Meghan is (half) black this never would have been an option? I mean this is where they lose me--what evidence do they have of racism? They have not once been able to justify their claims (other than the Archie skin color accusation)

Oh please. If Diana was ignored, gaslit, diminished and left to the wolves by Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the British Royal family, why would anyone expect things to change? Especially as Diana was the future queen consort and the mother of the future queen--Meghan is only the wife of the second son and his heir brother already had children. So why would they lift a finger for a "lesser" royal? Plus, Harry DID go to his family directly. And on the day he was supposed to meet with his grandmother, he was suddenly told now she won't see you.

And even that question was normal. Real life mixed race couples (like my family!!!) can attest than wondering if a child will be fair like one parent or dark like another is NORMAL. We have many friends where a grandparent was sad to see how dark the kid turned out bc she was excited to have a fair skinned grandchild finally. No one thought she was racist!!! This is cultural and much deeper than race (these were both Latino families in this case). MeMe was thrilled to have something to complain about, 100 percent sure her parents wondered who she would most favor before she was born. All of it is a lie just like everything she does.

I hope it will be long lasting. I hope they also did not think most people would change their opinions of them based on the Netflix series. The racist haters will still tear them to shreds.

It’s not racist to dislike her. She is literally whiter than 99 percent of people commenting here. She had claimed every privilege and never suffered a day in her own life except by her own making. The woman may have some black blood but she is truly not black and you have to see that. She is claiming it to be a victim.

Just confirming that aspect of what was described.

Do other celebrities or other government entities or business entities not do that? Is it unusual?

Meghan and Harry absolutely leak stories to the press as well. That all came out on the court case against the Daily Mail. At this point though the documentary seemed stale- complaining about things that happened years ago (that they already complained about on Oprah, in the Funding Freedom book, etc… how often can they trade on the royal family before people get sick of it?

There's nothing special about them and now that they've aired their grievances they really should just disappear for a bit and focus on their charities.

While I agree with this, people and tabloids and news will continue to talk about them and find multitudes of reasons for outrage every. Single. Day. So it doesn’t really matter what they actually do, people will still have the perception that they’re everywhere constantly and that they’re in the public limelight.

You can’t win in their position.

This all sounds one sided. The royal reporters are saying that a lot of negative reports about Meghan actually got quashed by the royal family, who took great care to try to shut up her staffers that claimed she was a bully

It's highly ranked on Netflix, so apparently not today! And you're here giving them attention, so you are clearly interested and not sick of them. Mmmm, yum yum!

Isn’t there some report that it’s the most watched documentary on Netflix? Thought I saw something like that.

You can if you just take the high road and stop talking ad nauseum about your in-laws.

What are your positive and friendly thoughts about Netflix docu series episodes for five and six?

100% believe them. The tabloids were HORRIBLE to her, just as they were to other women that married into the family and didn't "do as they were told", so to speak. I think it is completely reasonable to take the actions that they have. And, lbh, the monarchy is not exactly known for being empathetic, kind, tolerant. And quite the opposite, many have been awful people. Even the Queen has made some very poor decisions.

I thought the information about how they met, their relationship, etc. was extremely genuine. Unless you're saying they planned their pictures, texts, etc. years in advance of them being in their current place in life.

I think Meghan is a beautiful, intelligent, independent woman who underestimated, much like Diana, what she was getting into. She changed her mind (and so did Harry) and she is entitled to do that. I do NOT think she coerced Harry on this point in any way --- he was never super into the role of a royal and has always despised the tabloids. Those of you so obsessed with her and think she is so . . . . I don't even know, powerful, persuasive, negative. . . . I don't know what to make of you. It's bizarre. And probably a little sexist and/or racist even if it is unconsciously so.

I completely agree with all of this.

More importantly, safety. What is remotely safe about putting your children out there for public consumption?

Do you mean like every time the Royal Family puts on a photo shoot literally on the day that every prince or princess is born, right outside the hospital?
Do you mean like every time the Royal Family has official photographers who are allowed to take photos of children on ski trips, royal yacht trips, etc.?
Do you mean like every Christmas when the Royal Family encourages photographers to take family photos outside of the church service?
Do you mean like every birthday photo that was officially released for princes and princesses?
Do you mean like every first day of school/first day of Eton photo op for the princes and princesses?
Do you mean like every royal wedding being televised and heavily photographed?

Do you mean like that?

I’m f they’re just Harry and Meghan, why do they ask their staff to call them Sir and Ma’am?
DP. I'm not sure what your point is. "Just" Harry and Meghan are just regular Californians now, and their kids are just regular kids. Many American parents keep their children's lives private, out of safety concerns and out of respect for the children's future lives and to give them control of their digital lives. Mommy bloggers get in trouble for sharing too much - while Harry and Meghan are not sharing a lot of their children's lives, why are they sharing anything at all?

If they're just Harry and Meghan, why not give up the titles that were granted to the wife and kids? It is very much in keeping with the slimmed down monarchy for them not to have them and again, she keeps talking about the spectacle and the show.

the only show and spectacle is HER. She should give up her title that she is obviously obsessed with using.... the funniest quote about this title is when she called someone to talk about something and called herself only MEGHAN like she's Madonna and the lady thought she was talking to Megan Fox the whole time. The truth is she'll never be famous outside of this marriage and the magic of the royal family except for trashing her in laws.

Maybe it's time for her to let that go??

I have thoughts about this. I agree with you that these conversations are "normal" in mixed race families. In the Oprah interview Harry said this conversation happened in private between him and another senior royal. Maybe the comment was said in jest, but, Harry felt outraged (probably because of the racist coverage they were getting in the press and on social media). He should have addressed it immediately with the person and never passed it along to Meghan. She was obviously in a vulnerable state and hearing stuff like this would only make that worse.
