This. I am a liberal (not progressive) democrat, and I voted for Hogan for governor (twice). And there is a 0% chance I'd vote for him, or any other republican, for national office.

Van Hollen is already a senator, and he is not up for reelection.

Ben Cardin announced his retirement, so that is the seat that is open.

I’m not convinced Hogan is going to run, the senate doesn’t really seem like his jam. Raskin’s more likely to run but I don’t think that’s a slam dunk either.

+1 Former governors hate the Senate. And PPs are right IMO that Raskin has a much more high-profile position in the House, I think he will probably stay there.
