This. I am a liberal (not progressive) democrat, and I voted for Hogan for governor (twice). And there is a 0% chance I'd vote for him, or any other republican, for national office. |
Van Hollen is already a senator, and he is not up for reelection. Ben Cardin announced his retirement, so that is the seat that is open. |

+1 Former governors hate the Senate. And PPs are right IMO that Raskin has a much more high-profile position in the House, I think he will probably stay there. |
