She was using it as an adjective. And she’s the very picture of a useless hypocrite.

What were her exact words?

SEPTA is lame. They don't do much except pat each other on the back on how great they are and give a lot of lip service. Very minimal action for the kids.

STOP.

SEPTA is run by volunteer parents who are FREAKING TRYING TO RASIE CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES. People who volunteer for SEPTA are typically parents who have children with multiple, significant disabilities. They give their very little free time to trying to help improve the larger dumpster fire that is FCPS special education.

If you would like to see more or a different type of action, I suggest that YOU step up and volunteer. There are plenty of opportunities for you to stop complaining and start doing something.

SEPTA is not FINE BTW with the statement. Are you even part of the FB group?

Exactly. To think that someone who works in education has this word at the tip of her tongue is very troubling.

She needs to resign.

I mean it wasn't a mistake. It's just who she is.

"Rachna Sizemore Heizer said "I'm glad to see that she's issued an apology, but I don't think it was appropriate for her to say she was frustrated. There's no excuses for using that word."

She claims it's not the first time Keys-Gamarra has used the word.

"That is actually the third time she's used it," said Sizemore Heizer. "The first my understanding, was in a conversation with another board member and she was told it was inappropriate. The second was actually in a conversation with me and I told her it was highly inappropriate and offensive and asked her not to use it."

+1

What kind of raging a-hole criticizing SEPTA FFS?

Some real POSs here.

She should not have anything to do with the education of disabled children. Period.

Woah. The gloves are definitely off for Rachna to share that KKG is a serial offender with WUSA.

Those who followed the TJ admissions change will know that several Board members felt like Keys Gamarra implied they were racist every time they challenged something that Keys Gamarra and Anderson favored. It was heavy-handed and offensive.

Keys Gamarra is now getting a taste of her own medicine. Good. She should read the room and step down now.

KKG has been bad or wrong on a whole host of other issues over the past five years. When you neglect your responsibilities this much, and burn this many bridges along the way, no one is going to be too sad if she's asked by her colleagues next week to step down.

You can hear it in their speech, see it on their social media, and feel it deeply through their mannerisms.

I find it really unfortunate, and as an advocate for all students, especially those from diverse backgrounds, it has turned me from an ally to a skeptic.

Wow this is 100% truth.

Don’t give her credit that she works in education. She’s far from being in the trenches as a classroom teacher or a special ed teacher.

KKG has been told it’s offensive. Three times.

She has already had a chance already to stop, see someone else's perspective, examine her heart and biases and then change.

She needs to go.

The word was in my vocabulary as a child. I would never use it as an adult. Never ever. This is incident is inexcusable.

And she’s the SB chair this year too!

That was my thought too. Oohhh.
