“The acting members selected were Jeffrey Zyontz, a lawyer who worked for both the planning department and the Montgomery council on land use issues; Amy Presley, a former planning board member and Clarksburg activist; Cherri Branson, the county’s former procurement chief who served a year on the council; David Hill, a former member of the Rockville Planning Commission; and Roberto Piñero, a former housing analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office.”

Cherri Branson is on the Police Advisory Commission. Doesn't she have to step down from that now? Was there any discussion of that during the interview process?

Reasonable people (regardless of party) don't want to be a part of the complete cluster **** that county government has become.

Agree. It is a very likely a legally illegitimate Board and anyone who applied should be considered immediately questionable in terms of their intent to serve, including the applicants that are already retired and bored.

Anyone directly impacted by a decision (which in most cases would exclude neighbors) would have standing to sue over the legitimacy of that decision and Elrich could sue as well, because the appointments contradict his legislatively mandated role in selection process.

It was reported that Riemer did not vote on the temp Planning Board members. Curious if anyone knows why? Does he just not care about pretending to care anymore or is he up to something?

That would be a disaster. There are few people who have done more to make housing in this county unaffordable.

This gives him too much credit that he is actually capable of executing and completing anything without massively screwing it up. His problem is that he is really an incompetent dimwit who has managed to fail up in life due to being born on third base. Giving him even more control would bring more incompetence, chaos and economic decline, not less.
