Entire Montgomery County Planning Board resigns

What the hell? I heard about the bar in Casey Anderson’s office but what else is going on that would result in this?

Apparently Elrich didn’t know anything about this either, great.

“Asked about the planning board controversy at his weekly media briefing Wednesday, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich (D) called the situation “a bit of a mess.” Elrich said he had only heard rumors about possible resignations but added, “I do think there is certainly a need to do something.”

There's gotta be more behind this story. For example, Anderson still has a job (he's just not on the board) despite clearly and consistently violating County policy (having alcohol at the office).

Then the ouster of Gwen Wright last weeks, months before her scheduled retirement.

I asked my friends who are mildly "connected" and no one has answers on what's behind this, but they all agree there's more to this story.

This is why Georgia Avenue is an ugly mess. Why we can’t get roads fixed. Decent commerce. They are all corrupt and it’s all a mess.

This is false. His job was chairing the board. He resigned from that job under threat of termination. He did some good work here but his legacy will forever be letting a good agency rot under his watch.

If Casey Anderson still has a job tomorrow that’s despicable. Just despicable.
