And how many Russians do you know? |
What do you think of the embedded Ostland tweet that you skipped past? How many threads do you need to accept that this appears to be a “special operation” supported by more than an insignificant portion of the Russian population? The negative perception of Russians is killing you but how are you so naive to effectively insist it comes from nowhere and that only professors of the former Soviet bloc or who speak Russian can comment? You do you, I guess. |
I never said any of that. I just asked you a question. |
I’m not PP so you didn’t ask me a damned thing. And it’s beyond evident that conversation is not what you’re interested in. You want to do some idiotic wannabe gotcha bullshit - oh did you not go to HS with a bunch of Russians and Ukrainians and Lithuanians and Moldovan? No? Then you can’t comment! Whatever, sweetie. This will be fun, to have you repeatedly post over the next couple of years why it’s unfair to hold another soul accountable for the carnage other than Putin. I’m virulently anti war and opposed the Iraq debacle publicly from the start, and I still understand that as an American, atrocities have been executed around the world in my and in the name of my family despite this opposition. It is what it is. |
This. OP good riddance. Your friend is pathetic. You did nothing wrong and you shouldn’t apologize for what your country did anymore than I should apologize for Iraq and Afghanistan and Libya and Yemen and etc etc etc. Your friend needs to get a life. |
I am a different poster, and I had 4 who I considered friends (not counting casual friends or aquaintances) - going back over 30 years who live outside of russia. How many of them do you think reached out to me since February 24 to ask how my family in Ukraine are? How many posted a single “no war” post on their social media? Answer: none. I had non-russian descent colleagues reach out, some even that I didn’t work that long with, parents of my kids classmates, neighbors. My good russian descent friends? Total and complete silence. |
I kind of agree but also think it’s just too raw right now, and perhaps the friendship can be resumed when her friend isn’t in this first mo th of horror.OP is not at fault of course. |
+1 |
| the folks bearing the brunt of the war crimes in Ukraine right now are the so called "Russian" population. Talk about a weird thing for Russian people in Russia to be OK with. You are with us or you will cease to exist. So much hate. |
|
The Russians will be able to visit China, Syria and other places. I see the travel to eu and west as over for 10 years or so.
They can still go to South America I guess. But they days of Russian athletes playing here and all that are over. I would not be surprised to see green cards pulled fro Russians. |
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It’s a little unsettling. Some of these posters would have been demanding that Japanese-Americans denounce the Japanese government to prove their loyalty. Holding people guilty based solely on their ethnicity or national background is un-American. |
Lol, that PP is completely fake and made up. |
They have been but you and your family did not suffer for it in any way. Your Visa card kept working. |
