Just back to report that he didn't bring it up - but that's not the least bit surprising; I'm not sure the message would have been celebrated by everyone on that call. It will make more sense for him to do it in an email. Especially since the opening was about self care - closing with a mask optional message would have been like dropping a nuclear bomb.

OK my fellow DCPS parents, time to flood Ferebee's and Bowser's offices with calls today demanding the end of mask mandates for our kids in DCPS.

Evidently Bowser thinks it's fine for rich kids to have the option to unmask in school, but the rest of us are forced to adhere to unscientific mandates that the rest of the world has abandoned:

Ours hasn’t even mentioned dropping the mask mandate but I think it’s because some parents will freak out if they do. My child’s classroom has also been relatively ‘mask optional’ for awhile given the number of kids I see through the window with masks off or how my child never has a mask above the nose. But I don’t mind that at all.

If YOUR child is vaccinated, they are protected. Even if they aren't vaccinated....KIDS AREN'T GETTING SICK! At this point, if a parent chooses not to vaccinate their child and they are one of the 0.01% to get really sick and/or die, that's between them and God.
