Does this mean DC school mask mandate is over?

When community case rates are as low as they are? Probably nothing.

A quick look at the rest of the country and the world would tell you the answer is probably nothing.

But like, they could be vaxxed if they wanted to be? Or not since they’re low risk? Why cater to the low vax rate?

A few of them might get the sniffles.

The kids that I know that tested positive had zero symptoms.

+1

Stop with the Covid hysterics. Homeschool your kid or get a well fitting mask. Otherwise let the rest of us sensible people take our masks off because we aren’t scared of getting a cold.

My kids are home this week because they failed their covid tests. I think one of them sneezed once. That’s the extent of their symptoms.

We never should have imposed any restrictions on kids.

I'm thinking June 10th and then .. well, might as well finish off the year.

We haven't changed a thing since some quarantine rules were adjusted for vaccinated students.

Sounds like he's gotta talk to the WTU, per his tweet.

But that also suggests that charters are free to do what they want.

I hope this means I get an email tomorrow that masks are no longer required in school. Would be a good way to end an instructional week. I will gleefully go to school on Monday without my mask.

The same thing that happened when groups of vaxxed people are packed into a small room for 8 hrs a day. Omicron was only slightly less likely to infect fully vaxxed and very recent real world data for the 5-11s showed vax did not really protect from infection very well, but was successful against severe disease.

MCPS just ended their mask mandate effective immediately.

Exactly. Keep your kids in a mask if you feel that it is a necessary mitigation measure for your child/personal circumstances at this time.

So we have the VA schools without mask mandates, MCPS ends their mask mandate effective immediately and then there is DCPS and the charters that are holding on for dear life. Meanwhile, the rest of the country has moved on.

PG is still living in the past, but those are about the only jurisdictions in the Maryland/VA/DC area. How about Loudon County?
