| My kid has been asking when he can stop wearing a mask daily now, so he'll be thrilled. |
I couldn’t disagree more. Twitter is how you get up-to-the minute updates on important issues. And guess what. Individual school administrators make mistakes. I’m not going to rely solely on the school to tell me updates in DC Health guidance. |
| Really appreciate that the union still gets the buck passed on them whenever DCPS can’t make a decision. You notice they never care what they say when they want to implement more standardized tests, extend the school calendar or other issues they want to do |
+1 I do not love the union by any means but DCPS publicly consults them whenever they want to pass blame. But actually negotiate a contract? Forget that. |
| Just got an email from our MoCo daycare that masks are optional starting tomorrow. I expected them to take forever like DCPS, so now I’m thinking we might see masks optional before the end of the school year. |

In addition to masking indoors not being necessary, these guidelines also state that physical distancing and asymptomatic testing are not recommended when Covid is low.
Hopefully DCPS will adopt all three of these changes soon. |
+100. This is part of the reason why people hate teachers unions. The city never acts in good faith with them and its shameful. |
Yeah they are doing WTU dirty right now. (And I support lifting the mandate.) maybe don’t sign stupid agreements, mayor bowser? |
Sorry your school administration isn't reliable. Ours is. |
| I cant wait to see how the union uses this mask guidance as another weapon to negotiate for all kinds of other random stuff, once again as the expense of kids. |
| Omg this is classic DCPS. Can there be a clear statement on masks?? |

| Only 25 percent of kids ages 5-11 are vaxxed. What happens when large groups of unvaxxed people are packed in a small room together for 8 hours a day? |
