With no butter? No oil? No thanks. |
I agree. My grandparents' generation was like that. Food was essential and people could enjoy it and have favorite dishes but it wasn't something you obsessed over. They also had excellent portion control. Amazingly so. The whole concept of being foodies was very strange to them when the concept started emerging in the 1990s. There had been gourmands but the food cult took things to a different level. |
| Eating that much fish = elevated mercury levels, I see elevated mercury in 100% of my patients who are pescatarians. |
| I pretty much eat the same things every day. Not like Beckham (I eat healthful oils and all vegetarian). But I can’t be bothered thinking about food too much. It’s one of the joys of being single with kids out of the house. |

This is like every other aging celebrity with perfectly smooth skin saying in interviews "Oh I don't do anything special at all, just the basics especially good sleep every night!"
Like, suuuuure. |
Tracy Anderson is well-known for promoting eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Her diet plans are 600-800 calories a day, and her workout programs are designed to keep women as tiny as possible (yes, she actually said that in her book). |

She is always been stunning imo.
So good for her for being so disciplined. I wish I could do it. |

Who cares? Tom Brady lives like a 10 year old. Those people don't eat anything. Maybe not the same meal but you know, they don't eat 98% of anything.
There are people who go to a restaurant and order a dish and say they don't want 90% of what's in it. My parents owned a restaurant and my dad would be like WTF? Why order the dish and not have almost everything in it?!! People are going to eat what they want. Why do you care?? What do you eat??? |
| Just because it was reported to be her diet...doesn't make it so. I imagine she might eat other foods sometimes. |
| What a sad way to live. |
As a fellow very petite and fine-boned person, I entirely understand Victoria's need for eating fewer than the normal amount of calories. I need 900-1200 calories a day, at 43 years old. The guidelines are for people who aren't built like me. And that's fine. We all eat what we want. |
| Girls on Friends ate some salad for 10 years. Jen still does. |
I eat salad for lunch six days a week. I change up which fruit I cut up into it (currently on peaches, about to transition to apples), and which nuts/seeds (currently on pumpkin seeds), but there's always romaine lettuce, lentils, and quinoa. |

There are many ways to achieve good health! Betty White loved all kinds of unhealthy American foods, but I’m sure she enjoyed them in moderation. If living to the high 90s and beyond is the goal, staying mentally and physically active plays a huge part. There’s constantly stories of 100 year olds “secret” to a long life, and they all have their indulgences (McDonald’s, soda, alcohol). But the common thread is they’ve stayed active in their communities.
That said, I’ve had basically the same lunch at work every day for the past 10+ years. It’s one less decision to make and I know it meets my body’s needs. Mine is chicken based though, I’m not a big fan of fish. |
That sounds delicious! I'd love that for lunch everyday! |
