Which clubs should get MLSNext?

Anonymous
A few threads touch upon which clubs deserve or don’t deserve to be in MLSNext so I’m curious as to which clubs in the DMV should be one. I think there’s a market for one in PG County.

Isn’t this around the time that new MLSNext clubs are announced? Anyone hear about rumors of new clubs for the 24-25 season?

DC United, obviously. Then Pick 1 or 2 in each of Nova and close in Maryland. It doesn't matter which clubs because the brand is strong enough to attract player and coaching talent any club that gets in. Any more and you stop being elite and start being just another league

OP here. Sorry I meant what NEW clubs should be in MLSNext. Not existing ones.

It's not a quantity thing.
There are enough clubs as is.

There is no need for additional MLS Next teams in the area. Not everyone is an elite player. West Virginia should have never been let in. Achilles and Alexandria need to be shown the door.

Paragon fields competitive teams.

None, the league is already getting bloated

So do several other clubs, have a good team in an age group here and there.

West Virginia is working overtime to improve.
Let's give them another year to see what they do.

Based on location and available talent, the DC one definitely needs better management.

Are the SYC teams also always in the bottom 3?

ASA only has one good team and that is the 2011. All the other age group is suffering.

ECNL might handle their mergers poorly but the idea is correct. Elite should mean something. MLSNext doesn’t need to grow, maybe swap some teams but growing just waters it down as the top league.

What teams/clubs would you swap?

Why should SYC be dropped? They do extremely well.

Agree with Achilles though.
