Thoughts? It certainly doesn't look like my Mother's WW. I like the autonomy of choice and the large selection of 0 point foods. I have been pretty anti-diet/"bad foods/good foods."
But does it work??? Would love to hear what those who are doing it or have done it think about it. TIA |
Crickets. Is everyone taking the weight loss drugs in lieu of a doing something like WW??? |
I joined WeightWatchers Clinic and love it |
It works for me! But only when I’m honest with myself. Sounds silly, but it’s easy to slip off target. I always suggest giving yourself a week or so grace period to adjust to the plan, don’t get down on yourself the first week when you’re realizing that your coffee creamer or afternoon snack cost a lot of points. Track it and move on.
I eat pretty much the same things for breakfast and lunches and I have a few snacks that I pack every day. It helps me stay on track even though it’s boring. Do eat your weeklies; especially at first. You may lose with them and it’ll help you stay n course. If you plateau later you can cut them out, but starting with them cut doesn’t give you wiggle room later. |
I love it! The zero point foods are awesome. I have upped my intake of fruits and veggies because of it. I love the app with the bar code scanner. Keeps me from buying crap food at the grocery store because I scan stuff and see how many points it is.
I have lost 35 pounds and am now hoping to maintain it on Lifetime WW. Which is also great because of the monthly weigh-ins. |
Funny you say that. There is a food blogger I follow and she has lost a huge amount of weight in the last year. It’s super dramatic looking. She came on IG and said she has had tons of questions and people asking her if she’s taking ozempic. She said it was weight watchers!! But she also didn’t say if she was taking any other medications. Haha |
Thank you for the good advice! |
Congrats! Appreciate the positive post! |
I started WW last October. I felt like the first 2 weeks was a little hard (I didn’t even notice how much snacking I was doing before), but then it became pretty easy. I joined a couple of Facebook groups for recipe ideas, but it’s been pretty easy. The app makes it very easy to track your food. I didn’t have a ton of weight to lose, but it worked and now I’m just continuing with it because I’m getting an older and I want to be more careful about not putting on weight. The Facebook groups are pretty informative and have some nice success stories. GL! |
It works, at least as well as other approaches to weight loss. Probably better. I've been very successful with losing a great deal of weight on WW twice. Which tells you what my problem with it is -- the fact that I've done it twice shows that I gain the weight back. I've gained it all back both times right after I stop counting points. YMMV.
Losing weight, even a lot of it, really isn't that hard compared to keeping it off. |
Thanks! I will check out the FB groups! |
I have been doing WW about half a dozen times since the late 1990s. A couple of things:
-only works if your honest when you track your food -only works if you track your food (and skip the BLTs -bites, licks, tastes) -every January there is a new and improved plan Have been a lifetime member (meaning reached goal weight and stayed there for 2 weeks) every time. And, everytime I stop tracking, and go back to eating what I'd like to/prefer to eat, the weight comes back |
I hear you. But I need something to give me the structure to lose. I have a very hard time (post-menopausal) losing. And then I will worry about keeping it off ![]() I appreciate hearing that WW works. |
PP here. WW is excellent for this, no question. |
Bumping to see if anyone is doing ww currently. |
