They use to have a drop-in option, in person. I am not going to be on their app |
WW has wreaked it by requiring the app |
People up thread saying WW “worked” for them multiple times. No it didn’t, apparently, because it didn’t help you develop the mindset and habits to keep the weight off. |
Over time a bit of the weight came back. Like over a decade. That doesn't mean it didn't work. |
I agree with that, but the pp said they lost “a great deal of weight” twice. |
I have lost about 13 of the 20/25 lbs i wanted to lose on WW. And now I’m kind of stuck. It’s a lot of work! |
I lost weight with WW but would instead recommend using MyFitnessPal or some other calorie counter counting protein grams - I lift weights
Zero point foods aren’t really zero I wish I learned that sooner |
I am, and I've lost 20 lbs since June. Mid 40s woman. As all the previous post say, it only works if you're honest (and that includes measuring things -- you'd be surprised what 1/4 cup actual is, for example) and if you track daily.
I found the first week to be really revealing. You get a real sense of where you're eating things that aren't helping your weight situation! And as someone said, the zero point food (which is essentially fruit and veggies, chicken, non fat greek yogurt, among others) really help guide you towards healthier options that keep you full longer. I joined for 6 months, with the goal of losing 30 lbs. Seem to be on track for that, but again, WW is really only as effective as your willingness to follow the program. So if you're not "there," so to speak, with losing weight, you won't find success. But you can do it!! Good luck! |
Drugs don't develop the mindset and habits either. The way I read these people's comments is that WW is successful for them - it's when they are NOT DOING WW that they gain weight. Just like any other diet or even a non-diet of just eating properly. When people stop eating properly, they gain weight. The program (eating properly) works. Choosing to go off the program does not. |
I did WW numerous times since the early 200s, especially to lose baby weight, and am trying it again to help with perimenopausal weight gain.
I actually really hate the new WW. It's very weighted in favor of high protein foods, which does not work for me. I do not want to eat a banana-egg microwave mug cake for breakfast. I miss the old plan where I could eat brown rice and whole grains without having them be 5-6 points. |
My issue with it (and I know I can just ignore this) is the really oddball recipes using artificially sweetened, low carb, ultra processed type foods. Hey all I just found 1 point peanut butter cups at Target! I did lose weight when following it though. Can't get myself to do it right now.. |
I thought about doing WW and ended up going with Noom instead. It’s been very effective for me and for a couple of my friends, too - we’ve all successfully lost more than 25 pounds. But you do need to stick with whatever lifestyle changes you make in order to keep the weight off. |
I tried WW once. I put all this effort to adjust myself to the particular plan they had in place...only for them to change the plan within the year, which drove me crazy. I also always felt hungry anyway, so I decided it wasn't for me.
I started to meditate, which lead to eating more mindfully, which lead to losing weight and keeping it off for decades. Now I can eat whatever I want, because I am always aware of how full I am, when my body really needs to eat, what foods it needs to eat, etc., without counting calories or following a plan set out by someone else. |
I lost 70 lbs while taking Ozempic and doing WW. Then my insurance wouldn't pay for Ozempic any more so I had to quit cold turkey. I've not stopped counting points and basically continued WW on a weight management plan. It's working great and I haven't gained any weight back. I basically plan to eat this way indefinitely in order to maintain the weight loss. |
You're doing it wrong. I've been on WW for two years now and don't eat any of the processed stuff. I eat a ton of fruits and veggies coupled with mostly lean meats. i eat good carbs like sourdough bread and sweet potatoes and rice (in moderation). I don't eat processed sugars. |
