Where are all these women who look so young? I have never been surprised at someone’s age outside of a couple of really old women (80+).

1. I’m short and I usually wear jeans and sneakers.
2. I dye my roots. Otherwise, I’d be mostly gray by now.
3. I’m pale and stay out of the sun. No sun damage on my face.

I color my hair, and keep it shoulder length, maybe to the clavicle.

Lucked out with minimal wrinkles as I've aged.

Have a "young" attitude.

Had kids later in life so most people assume I'm a certain age based on my kids' ages.

Avoid Alfred Dunner clothes.

Same. I am 56 and haven't gone grey yet. My parents didn't have wrinkles, so I am lucky. Having said that, I feel my body aging.

Well I don’t usually broadcast my age. It happens when I’m carded or when kids ask how old I am when I substitute. Middle schoolers have no shame.

I work in an arts field and have lots of 20 something people coming in to our organization all the time. They regularly are shocked when they find out I'm 45 and thought I was mid-30s.

I am a healthy-thin weight (like a size 8, medium), have no gray hair and don't dye my hair - it's cut in a long bob, use sunscreen regularly and have very few wrinkles, get good sleep. I keep up with clothing trends but don't overdo that.

But I agree that it's mainly heredity and your perceived lifestyle.

Also, light makeup applied well. Under-eye concealer, neutral light eyeshadow, brown eyelliner close to the rim, a flexible mascara, cream blush that matches your natural blush shade. No foundation.

I’m AA. Most of the healthy AA women I know look a decade younger than their age. I had a major illness that took a toll on my looks because I used to hear 15 years younger regularly. Now it’s a decade. I’ll still take it.
