Size 8 is definitely not thin. |
They’re all on DCUM! |
You sound like you have BDD. |
Maybe it’s the pantyhose weirdo who pops up on here occasionally |
I see women of color all the time who are wrinkle-free but are obviously in their 50s and older because of all the other changes that happen to your body and hair. I don’t think melanin is the cure-all that some on here think it is. You might not have wrinkles but that doesn’t mean you look 10 years younger than your age. |
Same. I wear a size 8 in pants for the longer inseam and because I have athletic legs/butt, yet I'm also at the lowest end of a normal BMI. |
Until you're 45. Then you turn 80 overnight. |
I think it's funny people are getting smug about 20 somethings recognizing that they are way older than they are, at least 10 years, but aren't hitting the nail on the head. They know PP is old they just don't know what all the tells are, but what difference does it make because you're way older than there are. Mid to late 30s is over the hill as far as they are concerned. |
Botox/dysport since 30
Religious about SPF, tret and vitamin C Grew up out of the sun in the PNW and then avoided sun exposure as an adult Minimal alcohol, tons of water Fairly clean diet Prioritize sleep, exercise, stress reduction wherever possible (AKA UMC lifestyle privilege for most of my life) Good genes and luck (mom only had a few greys by mid-60s, no family health problems) |
+1 All of the people who post *solely* to insist that size 8 isn't thin are beyond words. |
Size 2s rarely look younger. That’s why all these WW look 10 years older than their real age. But good for you. |
I try to avoid/correct some of the telltale signs of aging:
- uneven skin tone: I use tretinoin, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses - thinning hair: I stopped using heat, get regular trims - stained teeth: I use a whitening toothpaste - too thin or too much weight gain: I exercise, try to maintain my weight, and wear flattering clothes |
For reference I’m white and 50. I’ve used retin-A and sunscreen since my teens. I haven’t drank alcohol in 15 years. I started Botox about 8 years ago. I got lip filler to fill back to my natural lip fullness but not beyond it. I get peels and use peel pads at home. I have age spots and broken capillaries removed. I take multivitamins and drink collagen drinks. I make sure to take care of my health. I pay careful attention to my brows. Having brows as dark and full as I did when I was young really helps.
I try to look as nice as possible without makeup. But I do love bright colors, I wear some makeup everyday. Using a 10x magnifying glass and applying carefully really makes a difference. My favorite YouTuber is Dominique Sasche. |
Those of you who don’t think it’s possible have not had a doctor or nurse look up from the computer and say, well, you may not look 48…
Or say, you don’t look 49, you don’t even look 35. I’m serious. |
Exactly. |
