Hillary Clinton offered up a clearly hypothetical example about the Democrats asking China for help winning the coming election in an interview this past spring and Republicans freaked the eff out about it. They are all SILENT about Trump actually admitting doing that.

My question: did Volker hope to avoid jail by resigning and cooperating with the investigation?
All the participants in these texts are clearly implicated, even Bill Taylor who texted his misgivings and wrote that it was "crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign."


These texts are the smoking gun.

And what disgusting liars those GOP Congressmen are to come out after the hearing and say that it's a nothingburger.

They are truly destroying our country.

This combined with the rest of the string does seem to be a smoking gun. And that string isn't the whole thing - they are planning to release more.

The texts on July 25 before and after the call are the smoking guns IMO. The ones into August and September are CYA. Taylor was pretty naive with some of the stuff he put into text.

7/25 (before call):

This stuff is just nuts.


Taylor was not naive. He was appalled and wanted his objections on the record. He knew that texting it that explicitly would rattle Sondland, who had no business being involved in Ukraine at all, but was included because he was the political appointee who spoke to Trump and Pompeo. Taylor came out of retirement to help Ukraine against Russia and was pissed that the military assistance was being held up for Trump's "deliverable" e.g., a public commitment from Zelensky for the "investigations". Taylor obviously objected in phone calls to Sondland, and put his position on the record in the texts.


I love Taylor. When is he coming before Congress?

I love that he’s pretending to play stupid in that text to get it on record.


It's especially great because Taylor is who they sent to Ukraine to replace Marie Yovanovitch after they smeared her and removed her. They must have assumed that since Taylor is an old white guy, he would agree with their idiotic political agenda.
