The dude from The Apprentice does that every single day!

The dude from the Apprentice did not have two people beat him up and then say he was the victim of a hate crime. Even someone of your limited sort, PP, can distinguish the difference, right?

No he became president and sold the country down the river to a hostile foreign nation

Can you clarify? This smacks of bloviated ignorance.

No buts, Kamala. Making a false report, particularly one like this, is bad. Full stop. No ifs, ands, or buts. Jussie’s false claim didn’t just waste countless police resources..it did damage to ACTUAL victims of hate crimes.

I honestly can't believe she didn't apologize and say she regretted her rush to judgment. What an idiot.

She needs votes . . . It's called pandering.

Yes, but she should realize she also needs the votes of the people who voted for Obama, and then for Trump.

Let's see what Mueller says next week. But sharing campaign data with Russia and implying that we're would lift sanctions for help winning the election.

There have been a number well publicized events designed to stir up racial tension. I think the best example of this was the catholic schoolboy at the Mall with the native American-- it's sort of an inkblot test in that anyone can see anything in that interaction. These incidents appear to be orchestrated or at least exploited by people seeking to make a point about trump supporters.

Now you've got Smollett, an actor who thinks his career is on the line, and he thinks to himself, what's one more incident? It will shine light on how evil trump supporters are, while boosting my career in the process. He's obviously very wrong, but in the context of many of these incidents (not as dramatic as the noose but nonetheless dramatic) I think it makes sense why he concluded that it was a permissible thing to do. He's not the first or the only one. He's just perhaps the most idiotic and most clearly attempting to profit.

You can’t understand the difference between an orchestrated hoax for personal gain that used the media for amplification and a chance encounter between a kid and two other parties that was grabbed onto by the media to advance a narrative? Those are two entirely different situations.....try to exercise your critical thinking skills once in a while.

There difference between premeditation and a crime of convenience is only in the degree of intention. Otherwise it's the same. Mark my word, within 6 months, Smollett will be a hero of BLM and the far left.

Except when called out - he didn’t apologize or make amends, he doubled down. He’s still lying and crying that he didn’t do anything wrong. After being arrested and charged. He was on the Empire set today weeping and saying that he didn’t make this up when it’s clear as day that he did.

I supported him when this first came out but it’s clear as day that he’s in the wrong and he needs to admit that.

Agree. I can't quite fathom why he hasn't apologized profusely, to everyone involved. And that includes Trump supporters.

However, NOTHING from Trump on the RWNJ arrested in Silver Spring, Maryland wanting to kill members of congress and the media.

Oh and nothing about crazy pants Roger Stone.

Save your outrage, MAGAS and please crawl back under your rocks. Bunch of hypocrites.Hope you are shaking in your collective boots. And please, for the love of God, dispose of your rifles.

Thanks so much.

I've decided (long ago, actually) that those who persist in using the term "MAGA" as a slur are idiots. Thanks for proving the point.

And "shaking in your collective boots"? How bizarre.

Pp here-- He does need to admit that, but the same sort of flexible view of morals and reality that enabled him to get into this situation are also going to keep him in it. He knows that if he repeats the lie enough, it will start to seem true or plausible. He's personally better off if he holds the line because eventually public opinion will sway back around to support him. Even I find myself thinking, well, if he had to deal with the problems of racism, is it so wrong that one time he should get a profit from it?

Who apologized? I saw a bunch of tweets disappear . . . and lots of crickets . . .

We can go around and around and around, but you have your perspective (clearly liberal), and I have mine, which is moderate.

Your outrage is hysterical, by the way, as you continue to perpetuate stereotypes with hostile language.

I don't think you understand what the lefts real reaction to him is. This is unforgivable. He's done so much damage to real victims. Everyone I know is just askance about it. He is equal to trump now, in terms of being vile and unwelcome. I hope he goes to jail and that's the consensus in my circle.

Run along, troll. Don't come back until you're able to make a more apt comparison.

And in doing so, she's lost votes. MANY votes.

This kind of lunacy goes beyond whataboutism and right into sheer idiocy.

The only one feeling badly for Smollett or trying desperately to justify it are self loathing whites. Black people are done with him. He's becoming the brunt of jokes from prominent black people, like Charles Barkley.

What Smollett did didn't affect anyone other than himself and waste a few hours of detective time - and nobody has demonstrated that anyone was harmed because of a few hours of police time spent looking into Smollett's case.

Trump on the other hand is in fact harming the lives of millions of Americans with his policies, for example lives lost due to his awful response to the Puerto Rico hurricane.
