Wow, saying all that is a tough load to tow.

Anyway. I think that the realtor/owner of the strip mall should be responsible for providing the same kind of security that is obligated to report bag checks. Is this realistic? Is there a way to keep them honest? I know something needs to be done, just not sure what. Clearly we won't be hearing from the realtor/owner of this strip mall anytime soon, they might be named in the wrongful death suit! Intelligent thoughts on this one?

What on earth are you talking about and why would it be the strip mall's fault? You are really go out on a limb here, aren't you?

In-store security is not part of a commercial lease. I think Lululemon is the one you should be looking at. They make the decision to close with two employees, they decide what monitoring equipment to hang, and they are responsible for communicating policy regarding how to handle bag searches, in-store theft, and reporting of that theft. Employee safety is their responsibility.

Bottom line: there happened to be a woman that had deep seated psychological issues that happened to get hired in a store that had no idea of her condition. She being the bullshit artist that she was talked her way into that company and even staying in that company after she was suspected of wrong doing regardless of the wrong doing was. Unfortunately for Jayna who would have NEVER have imagined in a million years that she was a psycho she called her on her behavior and lost her life as a result. End of story. There is NO strip mall or any business that is responsible for this persons mental illness. This was the work of a severely mentally ill individual that murdered Jayna. She is the only person that should be held responsible for his crime.

Well said! And should be the end of this thread.

My guess is that she would have been deterred if there was a good monitoring system with remote storage. It seems unlikely that she would best someone like that on-camera.

I wonder if she grew up in a violent household. That kind of rage doesn't come out of nowhere.

Who knows? She could have grown up in a perfectly wonderful family and still ended up with a screw loose. I know people that come from good families that are a mess and people that come from horrible families that turned out good! Who knows why some people end up with mental illness and others don't. There are MANY speculations and or valid factual reasons for mental illness. Which pertain to Brittany....who knows!?

My guess is that her family was surprised. She must have known that she had problems.

Are we going to later find out she was institutionalized and tried to seek mental help but didn't receive it like some mentally disturbed killers?

Don't know but I am thinking that they are going to find out that she has murdered before. Now that they have her DNA they could potentially link her with other murders in places that she has lived before. Anyone that could murder someone the way she murdered Jayna seems extremely comfortable with the act of murder. So it stands to reason that she has potentially done this before but successfully covered it up. She was a little thing that NO one would have ever suspected of such a hanis crime!

I don't know about other murders but I would bet she has a history of violent physical fights.
