How bad has it got that the reigning WCAC champs don't even get a mention and no one is shocked by a 15-4 Bullis win?! (And that was a game that the coach was not suspended for.) I think after PVI, Bullis, and Landon, it is anyone's guess. GP, GC, GZ and SJC are all "meh" contenders. They could win, but only if the top three collapse. No one else even merits discussion.

I imagine whoever voted that coach “Coach of the Year” is feeling stupid right about now. Horrific coaching.

DeMatha is horrible. The last great recruiting class was the 25 class. That was former coach Scott Morrison's last recruiting class. As anyone can see, they have nothing and are a joke. They will be horrible for the next several years, shit the decade is more likely. As for the head coach, he was never good. He just rode the 25 class to the championship. His offense and defense coaches from last year left. It is funny how he was suspended for player tampering and he still can't get good players to go there.

A coach needs to be able to either recruit or develop players. Apparently he can do neither.

When was the last time PVI won the WCAC?

NEVER! To busy trying to win the VISAA (2018 and 2023). GZ has dominated from 2010-2019, PVI made it to the finals in 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2023.

DeMatha last year took it as we all know over SMR.

Who will take it this year?

SJC, PVI or GZ/GC

Sounds like the DM program is in shambles which is sad given its proud history.

With the exception of Landon in the 80/90s, all of these programs are cyclical. Like every single one. So no need to dump on DM constantly on this board, it’s boring now - we get it, they suck this year. They will be back though, everyone always is.

Hill up 8-2 on SJC, end of third.

I wonder if this is a St. Albans-like situation for DM and we should blame their struggles on the fine music program of the school making the lure of the harp or the bassoon to tough for potential lacrosse players to resist.

9-5 final, Hill over SJC

That was the worse lax i have seen. PVI, GC and GZ will smoke SJC! No offense, lazy defense and no energy!

Not a good luck for the Cadets!

All the hype for the 26 class. St. John's wasted the scholarship money on that group. I don't see any of them seeing playing time in college.

The hill school is a solid program.

Another moral victory for Speaks.

Top Ten

#1 Paul VI. The Heights win is a better one than against DM
#2 Bullis. Those big wins are now games they should win.
#3 Georgetown Prep. Can solidify the rank vs GZ
#4 Landon. The Bears MIAA wins look ok
#5 Good Counsel. GC scores goals and SJC doesn't
#6 St. John's. Losing could be okay but not like that
#7 Episcopal. Confirms the top ten with a solid win
#8 St. Albans. Scoring goals
#9 Potomac. Puts away BI by the same as EP
#10 Publics - Urbana, Madison, Robinson,...

Mentions - GZ takes it out on DOJ, Heights has goal scorers but not much else.

Way too many unforced turnovers, out hustled for groundballs, and offense is anemic. Cadets better figure it out or they are in serious trouble come league play. They still beat GZ but 5 plus goals so take it easy on that terrible prediction.

I'd go with the following logic.

1. Bullis - best wins in the area against Haverford and Spalding
2. PVI - great win against STAB, good win against IMG
3. Landon - good wins against St. Paul's, Severn, and Good Counsel
4. GP - good wins over Loyola, St Mary's, and Gilman.
5. Good Counsel - Falcons ran toe to toe with Bullis and Landon.
6. SJC - Cadets need to score goals; otherwise, they are in trouble against PVI and GC.
7. STA - playing better and actually scoring goals. Their goalie will keep them in games this spring
8. Gonzaga - a win tomorrow night over the Lil Hoyas would turn the Eagles' season around
9. EHS - don't believe the Mad Lax hype.
10. Urbana - at least they had the balls to schedule Bullis and challenge themselves against elite competition.
