What team last year went 7-1. If you’re talking about the 28s, look at there schedule last year. They played such a weak schedule that when they got into the playoffs they lost to Skywalkers. |
The average NGLL 2025 season Opp Rating for M&D DC was ~93.02, and for Pride Red it was 91.8. Both teams lost to their highest rated opponent (Hero's Green both) and both teams beat their second highest rated opponent, which was #4 M&D Black and #12 MDU East for M&D DC and Pride Red, respectively. The big drivers of the 1.2 average Opp Rating difference were as follows: - For their second highest rated opponent, M&D Black 2029 was a stronger team than MDU East 2028 - MC Elite, who both Pride Red and M&D DC played, was a significantly weaker team at 2028 than 2029 I don't know whether the 1.2 average Opp Rating difference means Pride Red had a "weak" schedule. They did in fact lose to #17 Skywalkers (95.49 Rating) in the first round of playoffs. M&D DC will also get to square up against an albeit weaker #28 Skywalkers (93.02 Rating) in the first round. Good luck M&D DC. |
What a snarky post! PP was trying to compliment the 29s at M&D DC and the last two classes in the region generally, and you turned it to an attack on Pride 28s. As someone who roots for DC-area lax in general, I hope you didn't jinx your team with the Sky Walkers reference. As the data from the first response to your lovely post demonstrates well, these were very similar NGLL seasons for the M&D DC '29s and the Pride Red '28s. For my part, I will observe that for the M&D DC 29s, a win over M&D Black is always impressive. That's a signature win; great job by the team. On the other hand, the goals allowed and goal differentials were stronger for the Pride '28s against similarly ranked opponents last year in NGLL. Recommend snarky guy come back when M&D DC has won a major summer tournament and risen into the top 7 in the rankings. Then the track record will be on par with the Pride Red '28s. Otherwise, to those enjoying M&D DC's success this Spring without attacking other teams, good luck this weekend, and have a nice day. |
This is what none of the M&D DC boosters on this board seem to gets. It is not solely about strength of team in HS. It is about recruiting. Period. Yes, it matters to be strong enough to play in top brackets with college scouts watching. But pure wins/losses don’t matter. The fact remains that they have zero recruiting record. |
You guys have to be tired of tearing down that M&D DC team by now. |
My daughter is way too young for me to be asking this question, but yours aren't necessarily. What current D1 coaches in the Top 30 teams are considered awesome to play for and which are known to not be awesome to play for? We have friends who are recent commits and will be hopefully in this next year and it is just something I've been quietly wondering. |

Please stop spouting nonsense. Their recruiting director has helped place dozens of girls just in the last 5-7 years from her high school alone. Her last club coached team had similar recruiting results to some Capital teams, even as it wasn't as highly ranked and doubtful got the litany of looks. You are attempting to damage the futures of 8th graders for lord knows why other than your selfish, incorrect and uninformed posts by you and your brethren. If anyone is reading this thread, they have already hundreds of times over heard your desperate pleas to come revive Capital. You are adding nothing new. They have heard you already. Ad nauseum. |
Nobody is damaging the futures of 8th graders. If anything, they are trying to help with a buyer beware for overzealous parents that don’t understand the landscape and how this all works. But you do you. |
Jeebus. Everyone has heard your biyer beware for a full on year plus now. Are you even serious? Do you believe people are so dense they can't read? Are you not aware that players have already gotten the reasons for (which run polar opposite to the straight out lying posts on "how this works" on here) with details from their club? What kind of look donyou think it sends that even half intelligent people can see your pom pom wavers are lying about a competitor as their main selling point? They know what the Capital pitch is. They know that's trending down, but they know what the pitch is. They also have a true idea of what the MDDC pitch is. If you become an untrustworthy entity on the facts, not sure how any of this helps you. |
Here is the reality, there are a few parents trying to frame the situation that this team is staying together. It’s not fact. Same thing happened at 28 level at first with Pride. If you actually speak with a bunch of the 29 parents in person and not on this weak ass forum, then you would know majority of team will be at Capital tryouts. Believe me don’t believe me. I could care two sh&ts. Do what you think is right for your daughter. My kid is on capital and I could honestly care less if your kid decides to try out or not. But stop trying to write the narrative and crap on Capital teams. |
This post is spot on. Colleges know what they get from players under Capital coaches. MDDC… ummmm…not so much. |
Playing for a top club does give an advantage as far as getting a foot in the door. But in the end you have to perform on the field. My DD plays for a top club and there's a handful of girls that don't belong. Coaches might initially give them a look, but they will quickly move on. |
Is the M&D brand a top club? Coaches will have to at least double take. |
How does Capital work play time? Hearing they make sure girls get play time and looks when their desired college coaches attend games. |
