There also very few A+s. You obviously don’t know the school and the students that go there. It’s ridiculously intense. |
It’s just soooo obvious who is worked up over the new rankings and why. Private school parents think their kids are too good for state schools. But they can’t get into the Ivies, Stanford, MIT etc. anymore because those schools are getting more inclusive. So the parents start looking at Tulane, Wash U, Northeastern, Wake, Tufts, NYU, etc and tell themselves that they’re better than UVA, UMD, Tech, William & Mary, the UC schools and the better Big Ten schools just because they cost more. But they never were. Never. The new rankings reflect that reality. |
No idea what ur talking about. People look at the specific things they care about when making college decisions. Expensive privates need to offer value to match the tuition they charge. All the kids going to these expensive privates had cheaper options like UVA but had specific reasons to go where they went. |
There are MANY private school students who get into the schools you so worship. However, many of them do not apply to those schools. They don’t worship at the USNWR altar like so many. In general, these are wealthy families, so they’re not forced to go instate. They apply to schools like Chicago, Vandy, WUSTL, Emory, Northwestern, SLACs and other great schools. Don’t hate just because they have more resources than you. |
Lol I have plenty of money. I’m just not stupid and elitist on how I spend it. |
Precisely this. Great summary. It's actually pretty entertaining to just sit back and witness the tantrums. |
Many of us don’t find going to any college to be elitist. That is a weird thing to say. |
Well, if you have plenty of money and you send your kid to a state school where your kid will be nameless and unknown in a large population of students, then who's the stupid one? |
All this jabbering is really funny. I'd be curious to take a poll at the end of the application cycle to see how many of your kids actually end up getting into a top ivy or Stanford or Duke after all this commotion. How is this thread still alive? Wait for your kids to get in first before worrying about all this. Honestly even getting into Cornell or Dartmouth is a win so don't limit to just historic T10 schools. |
Unknown by who? |
Why are people still arguing about this ranking? It doesn't matter what the rankings say everyone knows washu, Emory and northeastern are superior to any state school |
Baloney. They’ve always been second tier. Weirdo. |
Those who are convinced that money = individual attention don't teach college. |
One of these is not like the others |
