tons of bladder and pubic/pelvic pressure.
I was tested for diabetes (neg) and given an ultrasound for fibroids (neg). Basic diagnosis is you gained weight and it's pushing on stuff. Any idea what I can do to help -- as I attempt to shed this midriff fat? |
| Slowly increase your fiber intake and walk daily to help speed up elimination. Lighten the load inside your body, so to speak. |
| strengthen your core. Planks. |
| Fasting |
|
Eat your daily recommended amount of vegetables.
I'm trying that and oh my God, so many veggies! Sometimes I'm still finishing up the servings in the evening. Don't have space for much junk food. |
Does this help ab fat? |
|
You have a gut parasite from being sick. No different than beer gut or bloated belly on men.
Eat a probiotic at least twice a week or take an apple cider vinegar pill daily for a month and or take an antacid over the counter - ranitidine. Zantac or generic brand as directed on the box. |
Eating healthier, including more vegetables, will reduce your body’s overall fat composition. in time this will reduce your abdominal fat. |
The PP is right that you will lose overall fat. I'm the PP who left the vegetable comment and I did lose ab fat because that's the fat my body loses first when I'm eating more healthy. |
| Anyone know how to target belly fat specifically via nutrition? |

I carry my weight in the belly and have recently lost 20 pounds, hoping to lose 10 more. It’s just weight loss in general - I’ve been no sugar, low carb but I’ve also read that exercise is really beneficial for getting rid of visceral belly fat - the dangerous kind that isn’t the kind you can grab but goes around your organs - even in the absence of actual weight loss so I believe moderate exercise 150 min a week at least is a crucial piece of it.
I will say you’ll have to see if that’s what’s causing your issues. I’m a little dubious but it’s possible. |
Dubious why? Just curious: OP here. Was told this by urogynec. |

me too op! and mid 40s weight loss for women is no joke. i have managed to lose 10 of it just by taking 2 20 minute walks a day. i started doing that in june and have lost 10 lbs.
also agree with adding a probiotic, i take one inconsistently but am trying to be more consistent. now i am focusing on smaller meals and fewer carbs. |
I’m the PP and it’s possible but I guess it seemed a little to me like one of those blow off explanations women get from drs. I did not have those symptoms when I had more belly fat. I have noticed my occasional heartburn has gone away so I think there can be changes, I’m just saying may the Dr could explain it more clearly in your case but it’s not like every woman with excess belly fat has those symptoms. |
You can’t spot reduce fat. You just have to lose fat and eventually your belly will drop it though it will probably be the last of the fat to start to go. |
