Biden's VP?

Anonymous
See what I mean? This is a quick unofficial focus group. A lot of people turned off by Stacey A. because of the VP push, or like her but do not think she has enough experience or do not know enough about her. I hope Biden and his people are aware of this kind of intel. We need someone that more people could agree on and vote for. Someone who is very familiar with the way things work in DC, can work with either side (D and R, since the country is so divided), can take care of business if needed from Day 2 and if she knows something about healthcare (think covid-19), that would be great!

I watched Abrams' interview on CNN last night. She is not ready for prime time, yet.

It's basically between Amy and Warren, maybe Kamala as a distant third choice. Amy would be a better choice because of her age. But Warren plays better with Bernie supporters?

Would Biden consider Kamala after she threw him under the bus at two debates?

Yes, Biden is very much considering Kamala. He also knows how primary elections work.

Look forward to the questions Kamala will get about sexual harrasers and the double standard.

Please no, not Kamala. Let’s just get a pass on throwing a black card. Us black peoples are fine as long as we have competency in the White House. Stop looking for a black woman. Just pick Warren. She has stronger branding, appeal, emotional connection, tenure, ideas that mesh with BernieBros ...

Go with what people know. It will show solidarity amongst the party too. Who says he has to run two terms? What if he decided to nominate a different dem for 2024? But right now, let’s go with what we know will help get the world moving again. Amy should be part of the line up, but not VP. Kamala should be part of the lineup, but not VP. We have so many important roles to fill where we need these good strong leaders, everyone doesn’t have to be a VP pick.

I just always hoped that Warren wasn’t offended at the idea of the role as a VP and not actual President.

She also did that SNL drake bit that won cool points. Almost as smooth as Obama putting on shades and throwing a jacket over his shoulder.

Please excuse my typos, hope you get the gist

Biden cannot pick someone over 70. It's insane. We need the next VP to become his successor -- which could happen in a month or in 8 years.

Amy is fine. Whitmer. Grisham. Raimondo. I think a governer is better than a senator, and I think Amy isn't particularly inspiring, but she'll do. And she'll bring Minnesota.

Yes, Warren is not a reasonable candidate for Biden. She hurts his ticket more than helps it. She may be female, but she is white, so it looks like his is ignoring the minority factor. She is old and does not help the swing voters who are concerned about his health. She is just as vulnerable as he is to the current pandemic. People are worried about both his mental and physical health despite his doctors assurances. They want to make sure that his running make is someone who is young enough to take over the office and not be as susceptible to health problems as he is. While both are actively healthy now, both are at an age that accidents or illnesses are more likely to incapacitate them and recovery is longer. She does not add any reassurance to swing voters that she'll be any safer than he is.

And she is also a Democratic senator in a state with a Republican governor. If she is the VPOTUS candidate, then she'll need to resign by the end of June to ensure that her seat is vacated in time to have a special election in November to replace her. Even if she does that, Baker can and will appoint a Republican replacement for her for the last four months of her term. Additionally, if she resigned, they have to hope that the Democratic candidate wins. While Massachusetts is a reliably blue state, if there is a novice candidate and the Republicans throw enough money at the race, a strong Republican candidate, with the backing of Baker and Trump and a lot of RNC money would have a chance to win the seat. If she resigns after June, then Baker will appoint a replacement that will not be up for reelection until 2024, then entirety of the next POTUS' term. It is already going to be hard enough for the Democrats to get four seats, but that would mean that they would have to take 5 seats, and would almost assure that the Republicans would retain control of the Senate and Mitch McConnell would remain as the most obstructive Senate Majority leader in history. And that would be disastrous for Biden if he won. He won't have any more luck getting around McConnell than Obama did. It would be foolhardy to pull Elizabeth Warren out of the Senate.

Isn’t Biden’s whole Schtick that he’s pals with senate republicans and his relationships with them will get things done?

He does have a good relationship with many Senators including may Republican Senators (including a very close relationship with Lindsay Graham). The problem there is very simple. Mitch McConnell. The little Dutch boy Senator is the bottleneck blockage that stops things from happening. The most obstructive Senate Majority leader in history is the problem. And barring him losing to Amy McGrath, the only other way to stop him from barricading the Senate is to make him the minority leader instead of the majority leader.

And, he knows all the "foreign leaders." He said that this morning.
