Furious over Father's Day

Anonymous
Earlier this year my stepmom made a social media post that she was going on a cruise in June. I thought that this was a parents only trip, so I asked my siblings(who are in college) if they wanted me to come hang with them while our parents were on vacation. I was told that they were all going on vacation. So I was curious as to what my younger siblings got dad for Father's Day and they said we aren't getting him anything besides the cruise. I'm more upset about this because I wasn't invited and I wouldn't have known anything about it if it weren't for the circumstances that it was brought up. I feel like I shouldn't have been excluded from a Father's Day cruise since I am the oldest child, although I am an adult(I also could've paid my share of the trip). I don't have children(infertile) and I have been single since my long-term boyfriend cheated on me a few years ago.

Do I have a right to be upset by this?

It is tough seeing my dad with a second family and being excluded, although I am a financially stable adult.

No, it’s not right to expect to be included. WTF.

I think having one of your parents create a second family is insanely hard and people do not recognize that enough.

Everyone has the right to go on a vacation with the people they’ll enjoy being around. Why would college age people have wanted you to hang out with them? You’d cramp their style.

It’s insane that a father is vacationing with all but 1 child no matter their age.

Your dad sucks, your siblings suck, your dads wife sucks.

No Father’s Day gift for you.

I’d call my dad and tell him how rude it was that he left you out.

Phone a friend and do something fun tgat day.

I’m sorry, OP. This was so rude and cold of your dad and siblings.

You’re a terrible person.

These are my own siblings, not cousins for example. And people who I consider my immediate family. I just feel that if it is a Father's Day cruise, the father's oldest daughter should've been invited. After all, he wouldn't have been a father all these years(30), if it weren't for me.

Stepmom has found the thread.

I would be upset too OP.
Maybe when you are calm though ask your Dad why it happened the way it did.

Exactly what happened?
Your two half siblings paid for a trip for them and their parents (including your dad) to go on a cruise?
Or your dad paid for a cruise for him, wife, their kids, but not you (his oldest kid?).

I'm not sure who paid for the cruise, but I can guess that my siblings weren't involved in the financials as they only have part time jobs. My parents are UMC so it is likely they did.
