My girlfriend lives hours away so she comes and stays with me about 2 weeks at time. When she’s here she does clean up behind herself but that’s it. She left today and I texted her asking her if she could start helping me clean before she leaves. This for some reason ticked her off.
How was I wrong here? |
| 3PM on a Monday is a weird time to start s**t online. |
| Are you hosting her? Or is living with you. Those are two different things. |
|
Is she leaving it dirtier than when she arrived?
|
School’s out! |
I am hosting her. She stays for a bit then goes back home because we live about 3 hours away from each other. |
So you're the host. You're in charge of cleaning or hiring someone to clean. |
How? She’s an adult and stays here frequently. |
| You said she cleans up after herself. What more do you expect from a house guest? |
| She needs to pick up after herself, but shouldn't be scrubbing toilets, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc. |
| Shes a guest. So shes cleaning up after herself which is sufficient. |
|
Do you ever go and stay with her? And do you help her clean her place while you're there?
I think if you do that it's reasonable to ask for reciprocation. But, if she does all the traveling to you, and cleans up after herself, then you look like a douche asking her to clean up your place. |
Sweep, mop, laundry, etc. - any of those. |
| From one guy to another, you’re an idiot Sir. |
She's not doing her own laundry? You want her to do your laundry? |
