Assume that is why FCPS appealing again to try to save face.

Yes. Reid said they are appealing. FCPS believes they are in the right, and that the VHSL got it wrong.

Where did Reid say they are appealing? Is there a link to that somewhere?

Would it be a Code of Conduct violation if a student posted something like below- even if they said views were their own? From Fairfax Times article posted above: "Hayfield assistant coach, PJ Seilhamer, posted, “Just keep poking the bear. We coming for you all. No [redacted f-ing] mercy.” He attached an image that read: “Hayfield vs. Everybody.” Article also references posts by other coaches, but threads above talked about those already so not repeating here.

The asst coach did not redact what he said, just had to hear so would be accepted as a DCUM post.

So they lost the first appeal with VHSL affirming their first decision. So now there are going for a second appeal? LOL.

No class whatsoever. Hayfield coaches and Michelle Reid just keep embarrassing the county.

They are a JV team playing Varsity teams.

Sounds like some bad coaching as well, not a single point

Per VHSL, after Overton convinced all his favorite/PME players to transfer to Hayfield, the Freedom team was left with zero coaches, only two seniors, and only 6 other returning players *total*. The entire football program is only 50 kids and 42 of them did not play varsity last year. That's completely insane. No amount of coaching can fix that in a season.

From the Fairfax Times article:

“It’s understood that Fairfax County Public Schools plans to now appeal the ban to the 37-member executive committee of the VHSL, based in Richmond. Playoffs are scheduled to begin the weekend of Nov. 15. The first-round regional pairings are scheduled to be released this Sunday.”

The only reason FCPS is appealling again is because Reid and FCPS staff were humiliated and called out as incompetent by the first verdict.

I think the SB needs to take a look at the amount of money spent on the "consultants" and the 400 hours of staff work for the initial report. Per Reid's admission, they didn't even check the paperwork for 9 !!! transfers. And saying everything the coach did was on the up and up? Wow. Egg on face.

I do have a problem if FCPS coaches are not disciplined for postings like that by FCPS.

Good lord, how many "coaches" does this team have?!? It seems like dozens. Is that normal?

Goodness, I've never seen such an obvious, open-and-shut case. Let the boys on teams that didn't cheat play!

Could someone please send that to FCPS Public Relations for commentary?

Letter from VHSL

Knew them rednex down there were going to uphold.
It’s going to be Oscar Smith now.

Idk. Battlefield is strong and could be the last team standing. I actually think Battlefield had a better chance of winning it all than Hayfield.

As a fan, I was looking forward to seeing Hayfield, Battlefield, and Madison clash with the best Richmond, and Tidewater teams. It’s a shame that the haters had to get involved.

A lot of non Hayfield people were looking forward to those matchups. I do believe it all would've remained under the radar if the team moms hadn’t stated fighting. If the one team mom had given up her position quietly and accepted the new team culture, we would be none the wiser.

But now her kid gets playing time in the postseason for SoCo. So I guess she’s having the last laugh as they say.

Nah cuz he on team but don’t play, lol
But question is if this team mom left Hayfield and the son now attends SOCO n this WHOLE thing is about football, what’s happening with that, because it’s obvious she moved her kid for. Same reason there coming after Overton for, or is this being overshadowed

Everyone wants to keep blaming this one mom. There were MULTIPLE people who came forward. Even had a letter from FCPS coaches about this mess. It’s about time he faces some consequences. He should be fired and so should everyone who allowed this crap to happen. That superintendent is a joke and made the county the laughing stock of Va. For everyone say buy the kids…those 20 something knew what they were doing and knew it was wrong.

The Stafford, Fredericksburg, and Charlottesville area teams shouldn’t be slept on either.

This. Why they always count them out
