So you want us to believe he got fired from Freedom as football coach, got a job as football coach and head of security at Hayfield right away, but was able to keep his job as girls basketball coach at Freedom?

Yes he arranged to keep being bball coach. That was not an issue.

Letter from VHSL

Knew them rednex down there were going to uphold.
It’s going to be Oscar Smith now.

Idk. Battlefield is strong and could be the last team standing. I actually think Battlefield had a better chance of winning it all than Hayfield.

As a fan, I was looking forward to seeing Hayfield, Battlefield, and Madison clash with the best Richmond, and Tidewater teams. It’s a shame that the haters had to get involved.

A lot of non Hayfield people were looking forward to those matchups. I do believe it all would've remained under the radar if the team moms hadn’t stated fighting. If the one team mom had given up her position quietly and accepted the new team culture, we would be none the wiser.

But now her kid gets playing time in the postseason for SoCo. So I guess she’s having the last laugh as they say.

Nah cuz he on team but don’t play, lol
But question is if this team mom left Hayfield and the son now attends SOCO n this WHOLE thing is about football, what’s happening with that, because it’s obvious she moved her kid for. Same reason there coming after Overton for, or is this being overshadowed

HAHA. No way. Sorry if you were used to PWC families and schools looking the other way when you were all at Freedom. This would have never flown under the radar at any public FCPS HS. Its laughable that you think if one parent hadn't complained, it would all be just fine.

In addition to pointing out the 24 (wow) transfers, the letter discusses the fact that 15 Hayfield kids who played in 2023 and logically should have been playing in 2024 quit, transferred, or didn't make the "new" team for 2024. As well as pointing out how the 2024 Freedom team was decimated by all the transfers and only had 2 seniors left.

So basically VHSL is saying that Overton's shenanigans and traveling circus ruined the football seasons for two different HS teams of athletes which goes against the principles of VHSL.

I didn’t read the letter, but if what it states is true, that does sound pretty bad, and goes against the spirit / purpose of VHSL prep sports in a most blatant way. But does that violate the VHSL code?

In other words the spirit doesn’t technically mean you broke the code, it just means they (or people) won’t like it

Due to the family's treatment by the coach and his gang, the player was given a special administrative transfer. Used for bullying.

They broke the proselytzing rule. How many times does this need to be explained?

It's almost impossible to understand this comment because of the lack of correct punctuation, spelling and grammar. Which seems to be a common issue on this thread.

Coaches pick there schedules minus district games, if Overton stays they probably don’t even lose these kids playing now may or may not still even play, who knows, but I do know coaches leave for better opportunities, and so did he. Overton can’t make NOONE move, he had to tell the kids he was leaving, it was reported in all area newspapers, so again folks saying it’s Overton are misleading for their own agendas. It’s been reported that he was investigated multiple times down in PWC so who would t think he would potentially be investigated here too.

A 9tg grader can dress varsity doesn’t mean they play, unless they’re really good. Right now all I see are folks reaching. The “spirit” of the code basically means stay at your school it’s about education not sports (unrealistic in today’s times) but NO actual VHSL rule was broken. So it’s all about how one wants to perceive his leaving Freedom, which means interpretation and opinion

Those are all district games.

The rest of your post is not decipherable. I
really hope you aren't an adult communicating on a third grade level.

Once again, the proselytzing rule was broken, and VHSL has denied their first appeal.

When VHSL, who turns a blind eye to so many sketchy behaviors, accuses FCPS and Hayfield admin of dereliction of duty, you know FCPS and Hayfield reallllllly effed up.

Interesting how or when was he fired if he won States and finished the year as their security personnel.

Yes. Reid said they are appealing. FCPS believes they are in the right, and that the VHSL got it wrong.
